h2outfitters - day tours

This was my 4th trip with this well run outfitter/trip/kayak company.. I have gone on two kayak/camping trips in maine with them and received wonderful instruction as well as experience camping on the Maine Island Trail.. learned so much!> I have been on a Bahamas trip also, camping on the Archipeligo islands of the Exumas.. and just returned from Belize on a combined kayak/camping/ruins/snorkling/eco-adventure trip.. small groups, very well balanced trip.. Worth every penny!

Cathy, Jeff and the staff at H2Outfitters are amazing! They are knowledgeable and helpful. Their entire focus is on ensuring you have fun, maximizing your experience while being safe. I have rented kayaks from other places in Maine. The other places are just "renters". I feel like I take a chance with whom I am going to get and what level of engagement that staff person is and how knowledgeable they are. With H2Outfitters and Jeff and Cathy - I KNOW I am getting 35+ years of expertise! It's obvious they want the customers/guests to have a great time. I have rented kayaks and stand-up paddleboards (SUP) from them. AMAZING!!! You have to rent from them!

My wife and I booked a trip to Italy ( Tuscany and Cinque Terre) with H2Outfitters.Cathy flew with us from Boston, then met us at a small family hotel they use in Impruneta, a small town outside of Florence after we spent a day visiting art in the city. The Inn was comfortable and friendly, the staff stupendous. Cathy organized trips around Tuscany, using connections she has built over years of travel, to let us see parts of Tuscany that many tourists would miss.Our visit to Cinque Terre was equally well organized. We kayaked several times in the protected waters near Porto Venere, Cathy made us feel safe and provided , gentle, expert advice. Every facet of the trip was well managed and the food and hotels were all excellent ( not 5-star, but comfortable, clean, and friendly). I would recommend this outfitter to anyone interested in an unusual way of visiting Italy in a different way.

My husband and I lined up a day tour while we were in Maine and we were impressed in every way. We ended up being the only two to go out with our guide, Bill that day, but for us that made it all the better, as we were able to make all the decisions. We each had a solo kayak, as requested, as we have done tandem before and it just didn't go very well for us. Bill was very laid back and helped us get situated, gave us tips if we wanted them to make us be better paddlers, and let us pick and choose where we wanted to go. The weather was absolutely gorgeous that day, which made the experience that much more memorable. But regardless I would highly recommend a day trip with them, as we learned how we could improve our skills, lots of history about the area, and just had fun talking about everything else as well. We definitely hope to go again with H2 in the near future, we had so much fun and can't wait to go again!

This was the first time sea kayaking by 3 Vermonters who usually kayak on the lakes or rivers. Cathy our guide was very knowable and professional throughout our 3 hour sunset trip. She made us feel comfortable with the sea kayaks and was a great navigator. A very enjoyable time was had by these 3 sixty plus year old people. We would recommend H2Outfitters.

This wasn't the first time - or will it be our last - but my wife and I (wife and I in a tandem) and our 19-year old daughter (solo) were thoroughly pleased and impressed with H2Outfitters, and the professional and personable staff who helped make our visit one of perfection. Cathy (Monk) provided outstanding instruction, guidance, and equipment for a glorious day of kayaking - on a glorious day - and I would strongly suggest either a half-day or full day paddle with her for the optimum experience, although Tom (one of the friendly and professional instructors whom we've gone out with before; lovely guy) or Jeff (the Director of Fun himself; and he's a hoot!) can't be beat either. No matter who you choose (or who they have on hand), no matter how long, H2Outfitters rocks and you're sure to have a brilliant time!
