My husband and I traveled from Colorado to visit our son & grandchild. We visited David Jacobsen Glass and were amazed by his enthusiasm and ability to share his experience and artistic ability with others. Our 11 year old grandson was fascinated with the glass making process and with David's help was able to participate in making a glass and an ornament. This is an experience that young and old people should partake in. It was the highlight of our trip.

We realized a few weeks ago we live "around the corner" (more or less) to this artists workshop in rural Maine. we stopped by a few days ago and were dazzled by the artistry. we saw Mr. Jacobsen working with two young teen-agers who were involved in watching/helping him make glass ornaments of their choosing. ($50 for two ornament experiences). The glass items he makes are stunning. It is definitely worth the drive but I wouldn't do it in heavy snow or ice.

My husband and I recently took a two week road trip to Maine from our home in Alabama. We saw beautiful scenery and had some wonderful meals, including a terrific week-long stay at the Inn at Sunrise Point in Lincolnville, ME. While there, the owner, Daina Hill, recommended we try a class in glassmaking from a local artist. Our afternoon spent with David Jacobson learning about making glass was the absolute high point of the trip!! We've been a fan of his glasswork for several years, but this was our first opportunity to experience the unique and amazing fun of learning with him in his studio. The drive to his studio was a great chance to explore Maine countryside, and the opportunity to work with David was amazing. The entire session was interesting and clearly tailored to each individual to ensure the best possible learning experience. He's a superb teacher....we learned "hands on" about the total process, trying out every tool, "pulling cane," and then making our own drinking glasses. David clearly loves his work, and is incredibly talented both at glassmaking and sharing it with others....we absolutely loved the experience and our finished products. We highly recommend the class, and look forward to a repeat experience next time we visit.Thanks!

I took an introductory class from David in February of this year and came back for a second more advanced lesson yesterday. I had amazing experiences both times. David is one of the nicest people and best teachers I've ever met. On my first visit I worked with David to make a cocktail-sized drinking glass in a color I selected (tomato red). During my class yesterday I assisted David in making vases. Blowing and shaping glass is so different from anything I've ever done and so different from any other art-type experience I've ever done. I would recommend taking a class to anyone and everyone I know. I also recommend stopping by his studio to see his finished work and to buy. This was an incredibly cool and fun experience.

I had the pleasure recently of working under the tutelage of David Jacobson. We made glasses & "pulled cane". I am definitely not an artist, but I feel like one now! I will be going back! Also, don't miss John's Ice Cream just past St. George Lake on Rt. 3!

Working with glass is like magic. Using very rudimentary tools and molten glass, David transforms this into a work of art. Three of us went to his studio for our glass adventure. With help from David, we each made a paperweight, a drinking glass, and "pulled some cane". David was very knowledgeable and delighted in sharing his craft with us. I highly recommend you do a workshop with David. It is so interesting and no experience required. When I get a compliment on the paperweight or drinking glass, I say 'oh, I made it"! People are amazed. You will be too. Do it!!
