We went to Maine to go on the ATV trails and decided we wanted to go white water rafting also. This was an amazing experience and all the employees were great. This was our first time and we can't wait to go back again next year.

I hope you get Chris Santos as your guide. The guy is STRONG so for those who are scared of falling off, he will get you back on the raft. TRUST ME. Our first time going to Maine and we got information about these guys. Nice facility, clean, they can cook a good breakfast and lunch. WOW very impressed and they have a BAR too!! The guides are very good, very relaxed and just awesome. It's a wonderful drive getting there and the RIVER is awesome. This is the place you want to go rafting on. Check out their webiste. Good prices too. GO GO GO

We looked up this place in google an had decent enough reviews. While we were making reservations the person, speaking on the phone, was highly courteous. They even sent a confirmation receipt with the itinerary. Going there we found that they had a huge crew and were highly trained people. While we were on the tour, our guide Chris, was such a nice person. He was very interactive, kept our enthusiasm levela high and lots of stories to tell. Great guy!!! After the tour these people served food to the entire bunch of people that had come in. Had a very friendly atmosphere. The way they conducted was highly appreciable. Looked like a professional setup by a close-knit family members. I am definitely wanna come to these people, if I plan to raft here again!!!

We were vacationing up in Maine and on the spur of the moment decided to see if we could book an ATV for half the day. We had rented one the year before in NH, and had a blast, except for the fact that we could never tell where we were and spent too much time bombing around in circles. This time, we wanted a guide, and called North Country Rivers who found an available guide and booked us a rental for that very day -- sweet! Long story short, the guide and his gal-pal (forgot their names, and shame on me because they were both friendly and fun to be around; he's from Rhode Island, she's from Long Island) took us out on a four-hour trip and it was a blast. We chose a side-by-side ATV and it was just like driving a small car. Great scenery, challenging, but not overwhelming terrain, and the guide kept on looking back to check on us, and took care to point out hazards along the way. I would highly recommend this company, and this guide. (Just ask for the couple from the 'islands...) One odd-ball issue, though, and it's the only reason I'm rating the experience at 4 stars. The Guide's ATV picked up a flat, so for the last hour we pretty much had to limp home. He said this happens quite a bit because of the sharp shale on some of the more technical spots, and if so, I'm wondering why NCR doesn't just bracket a spare tire to the back of each ATV. That, plus a small jack, a bicycle pump and a bottle of slime and you would be able to handle any conceivable multiple tire flats with ease. Seems like good insurance to avoid the hazard of getting stuck in the woods as the sun's going down. Not that we did, thankfully, but apparently it has happened.

Stayed one night at the North Country Cabins. Family spent the day River Rafting and loved it. Just wanted to comment on the cabins. We had a nice large cabin that could well accommodate 20 plus people. We had 7 people in our party, so we had plenty of room, but only one bathroom. We managed. The cabin was clean and quiet. I was impressed with the great kitchen it had. It was modern in the way of appliances, etc. If we were to stay longer, we would have used it, but we were only there for a short time. The beds were comfortable. Lots of wood decor and the cabins feel typically North Style of the country, but with a little more comfort then the usual stark cabins elsewhere. The North Country river rafting people pick you up there and it is convenient. Just a little outside the town of Bingham, Maine.

Me and my family took a day trip to NorthCountry Rivers to go whitewater rafting and it was amazing! The staff is very informative and very upbeat positive attitudes. Our guide "Pappa" was awesome and halfway through, we stop for lunch which was delicious with choice of chicken, fish, steak with sides of rice, pasta salads. This experience will stay with us for a lifetime. When return from rafting, there's a video that is put together with all the rafters from the day in the video and we all sit in the restaurant/pub area to watch it. You have options to buy photos and video if want to. It was a great day and many thanks to all of the staff for a wonderful experience!

spent a week on a RV site. First visit in June I had a cable tv problem. Within 30 minutes the problem was fixed. I also mentions about the internet not getting to the rv sites. Well on my next visit in August. I now have internet at the RV sites. Place is clean and the people are very friendly. From the front end desk to the help working other areas . I would not have a problem recommending this place to friends. The price is very reasonable for a nights stay.

Had a great day with some great guides that made are day exciting and enjoyable. Went for a fall out of the boat in class 3 rapids but the very good training by the guides before you enter the river helped my boat mates quickly yank me back into the boat. Beautiful area and great river for first time rafter, makes me want to go back for more aggressive rafting.

Rafted the ultimate rapids on the Kennebec River! That means we went down the first half with all catagory 3 & 4 rapids twice, then had an awesome lunch on the river: chicken, steak, fish, rice, salad, bread, cookies etc!! We had the BEST guide: Kudos Spencer for making this trip a blast!!!

This was a fun filled weekend with friends. (group of 9) We scheduled the moose safari, a night in a platform tent and a day of white water rafting. The platform tents are okay-make sure you bring a twin size air mattress or some type of matt to sleep on-the plywood bunk beds are not forgiving. Also recommend you request the platform tents along the tree line as the other are in direct sunlight & it gets hot! Our first activity was the Moose Safari-collectively we spent $531 for a 3 hour van ride. NO Moose sightings whatsoever! The tour guy seemed nice enough but if you sat in a seat other than directly next to him or right behind him you didn't hear his tourist / informative speech. I would not recommend this "activity". It was beyond disappointing to drive around for 3 hours in a very noisy van. We saw nothing and they do not offer anything in return if your trip is not a success. I found this strange since even whale watchers offer a free future trip if nothing is spotted... Need to work on that NCR or at that very least lower the price. $59 per person is a bit much if the safari ends with epic failure. We followed up our 3 hour van ride with dinner at the restaurant onsite-they had music and the food was okay. Typical bar food-burgers, pizza, salads, sandwiches etc. Please note-the store across the stress has a deli that offers sandwiches as well and we all enjoyed that place-it was also a little cheaper. Our final day was the white water rafting-this was the saving grace of our trip. Awesome!! The water was refreshing, the ride was wild and everyone managed to stay in the raft! Dana was a guide - he was friendly and very knowledgeable of the river. He had great stories and provided a history of the river. I would totally recommend him if you plan a trip! I would do the white water rafting trip again but skip the moose safari-maybe stick the a hike instead-Moxie Waterfalls trail is near the base camp and it's free!

This was an absolutely fantastic experience for these reasons:1. Matt was super helpful getting us checked in. He suggested the wet suits due to the overcast and rainy weather. We decided to rent the wetsuits and we're SO glad we did. $30 for being warm was totally worth it. 2. They cooked us breakfast on the spot, even though there were not enough pre-orders for the buffet. 3. Our guide, Greg, was top notch. He was a great teacher, made the rafting trip super fun and adventurous, and was a great person to get to know. 4. Lunch was fantastic! We loved family style atmosphere, and you can tell that everyone that works at NCR really enjoys what they do and really cares about serving others. We can't wait for our next trip!

This was our family's first time white water rafting. We had an awesome time. Our girls (9 & 12) can't wait to raft again. The Kennebec was a perfect introduction for us and our guide Spencer was fabulous.

Our family of 5 travelled from Ohio to spend a week here. We did whitewater rafting on the Kennebec river one day and rented a side by side and a 4 person atv another day. We were originally going to camp here all week, but didn't end up doing that.Positives:1. The Kennebec was fun, no one in our family had ever whitewater rafted before, but it was the perfect river to start with!2. Atv trip was amazing! Our guide Greg was the best!!! He made several stops, answered all our questions about "Maine" things (logging, the trails etc.) and definately made the most out of our 4 hours!!Negatives1. I would not call this a campground, maybe some place to stay the night before/after your trip, or unless you had your own atv. 2. The guide for our whitewater rafting trip, well I just guess our personalities didn't mesh or he just didn't like us. The kids had a great time and we all discovered we definately want to do more whitewater rafting!

Me and three friends had a great time on the river. The volume was high due to recent rain and the white water was amazing. Our guide Jim did a fantastic job navigating the river and keeping us in the raft. If you are looking for a great day of rafting with a great company, North Country Rivers is the place to book your trip.
