Great afternoon of cross-country skiing on a warm spring day! Rentals available at the Lodge but we brought our own. Trail fee was $15 per person. We took the Wiley Farm Trail, which winds up a mountain on an old road through pines and birches to a scenic overlook. (There are also easier trails that go through woods and fields by the river.) The snow was very soft that day so climbing was not hard; it would be more difficult in icy conditions. Great views of Sunday River from the top and well worth the climb. There's a cabin at the top with a picnic table where you can have your lunch. The owner of the cabin came out and sat with us and we enjoyed talking with him. Very generous of him to share this beautiful spot with X-C skiers.

Greeted by a fun loving dog, we rented skis for the afternoon and had a blast on the trails. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and river valley. I wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed some of the snow shoe trails also. Excellent place to learn to X-C.
