When I think of summers in New England, I think of attending plays at the many playhouses. The Arundel Barn is one such place. This playhouse exudes a small town, local flavor. I say that in a good way. You feel part of the community when you attend a production here. Being in a barn is also unique. Look around at the walls at the different artifacts recovered when the barn (built in the 1800s) underwent its conversion to a playhouse in 1998. I took my 14 year old daughter to see My Fair Lady. She had sung several of the songs in her middle school Showcase, but had never seen the musical. It was a delightful evening. A Kansas native (Danae DeShazer) was even in the cast! The cast comes outside at the end of the performance. The season runs from June until the end of August. If you have a seat cushion, I might consider bringing it as the seats can get uncomfortable.

Went to a matinee today at the Arundel Barn Playhouse. My Fair Lady was the musical and it was so much fun. I realized as I watched that I've never seen it on stage, only the movie. The staff, the Actors and the Volunteers were all well executed and everything went without a hitch. I will go back for more. http://arundelbarnplayhouse.com/

Some friends and I went here to see the "Patsy Cline Forever" play. It was very funny and the star was a fantastic singer and did Patsy justice. The old barn and stage was a great spot for this play.

I have been going to the playhouse for about 5 years and have really enjoyed all the of the performances that I have seen. This year I saw All Shook Up (music of Elvis) and Always, Patsy (music of Patsy Cline) and Chicago. They were excellent. Missed the Andrews Brothers and hope they bring it back. The playhouse is in an old barn, but it does have AC and is very comfortable. Wonderful friendly people.

This is a very quaint and utterly fabulous theater. We went with friends to see a Summer Stock production of "Chicago". ABP is a wonderful off-the-beaten-path theater to see any production in. The theater itself is inside an 1880's era converted barn. The ambiance is amazing with poster boards and pictures of all the productions performed there since the theater's opening in 1998. The talent in the productions range from novice to very polished and accomplished actors. This combination adds such great diversity to any show and gives a fresh new spin to each one.Don't miss out. Head to the ABP for a night of excellent theater.

The 2913 Season is off to a great beginning with the production "The Andrews Brothers." Outstanding performances are given by Mark Edwards, Elliot Lane and Zack Steele as the Andrews Brothers and Beatrice Crosbie as Peggy. The musicians for this show are truly amazing. Artistic Director, Adrienne Grant, is be credited for the steady improvement in the shows in this incredible old barn dating back to the early 1800's. The barn became a theatre in 1996. It was nice to see people arriving early just to enjoy sitting in the yard and enjoying the ambiance of this charming area which is so close to busy Highway 1 but yet so far removed. The "Andrews Brothers" runs until July 2 and will run until June 29. It will be followed by 'Chicago," "Shrek the Musical," All Shook Up" and "Always Patsy Cline." Great parking for the handicapped!

This is our second time at the Arundel Barn Playhouse. The atmosphere is comfortable and truly fitting the name. The entertainers for both plays were fabulous. The first play we saw was more of a mystery, the second play we saw, was a Christmas play with great dancers and singers. It reminded me of the old Christmas movie with Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney and other actors who go back to my childhood days. I advise anyone planning to attend to order tickets around April/May in order to get good seats. The playhouse is only 15 mins. or so from the Kennebunkport town center. Tickets are very reasonable. My husband and I chose the matinees each time.Parking is right on the premises and there are no stairs to climb.

During the summer of 2012, we have had the opportunity to see several of the performances at the Arundel Barn Playhouse. This has been a great season for this group! Presently, through September 1st, " Beyond the Rainbow....the Judy Garland Musical" is a presentation not to be missed! The incredible performance of Sheira Feurstein is simply astounding! She has mastered all of the vocal qualities which made Garland a legend. Her counterpart, Jane Bruce, who played the role of Garland (in memory) was also outstanding. The entire cast was great!

We saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show and the cast did an excellent job. Too bad management purposely limited the audience involvement

What a great, fun stage performance of one of our favorite musicals! Our teens wondered if a rated "PG" Rocky would dampen the fun. It didn't. The cast was terrific, the atmosphere was charming and comfortable with a touch of quirky thrown in for good measure. A perfect evening's entertainment suitable for most.

We attended Cinderella by Rogers & Hammerstein. A great summer rep performance with good staging and direction in an old converted barn. Musicals run all summer, we gather. Fun way to pass a hot summer evening.

Recently, I attended a performance of White Christmas at the Arundel Barn Playhouse. I highly recommend if you are in the area to catch a show at the playhouse. The playhouse is great and there isn't a bad seat in the house!
