I visited on a day off, in early November. It was free admission and the place was very quiet. It's pretty small as NY botanical gardens go, but well worth the visit for fall colors and a variety of foliage. I'm eager to see it in full summer bloom.

The place is like a little park inside the city, roses and different flowers could be seen everywhere with butterflies flying and birds singing, not a huge Garden but I like it!

This is not a sophisticated botanical garden if you are looking for an eye-opening experience. But it is a friendly garden for the community in Flushing, where families spend time together. It is great to go there on Sunday after 4 pm for a free visit. Spending some time to see roses and CA wild flowers or to watch sunset is a break from your busy weekday routine.

We enjoyed coming to the garden and seing different things of nature especially butterflies pretty flying around. :)

Perhaps going at the end of the growing season is not the best time to go to a botanical garden but it seemed to me that there was a lot of walking and not a lot of flower beds or variety to the plants.

nice little outing, the worlds fair exhibit was interesting, the administration building was kept up, but that's not what we came to visit

Nice place very peaceful. But it is very hard top park around there and you have to be careful where you park.

I live in Jackson Heights which is rather sparse as far as outdoor greenery goes, so this is a frequent destination for me. A usually painless ride on the 7 train to Mets Willets Point and walk through Corona Park, going in through the Parking Garden. I have a community access membership so can take advantage of the uncrowded daytime.Drawbacks: Noise. Surrounding traffic and planes. Just a fact of the location, alas.Construction: a large part (and my favorite) is currently fenced off for repaving. I don't know when any work is done there: I've rarely seen any activity or signs of progress, and the lovely springtime tree blossom circle and wilder bulb area was mostly inaccessible this year. The apple and cherry trees in the meadow park were gorgeous, as usual, but there's construction there as well, with not much clue what they are doing. I do hope the foot bridge to the park is going to be accessible again at some point - the traffic intersection between the park and the garden is horrendous!Advantages:Lovely display of roses in season. Likewise spring blossom, when it's accessible again after repaving. The little specialty gardens are fun. The Parking Garden is pretty, a mixture of wild and cultivated. The ecology projects are interesting. Restrooms and drinking fountains are usually in good shape. Reasonable number of seats (important to this old lady!).Yes, it's small, and less spectacular than Brooklyn (which I try to get to every week but long trek). I can see that a one-time visitor could be underwhelmed unless they hit a time of peak bloom and no construction, but I'm very fond of it.

So Mom & I were invited to the Queens Botanical Garden this weekend for a flower festival. In all the years I have lived in Queens, I have never been there so I was very excited to go.. Was very surprised to hear that admission to the park was only $4.. Well u know that saying "you get what u pay for"? That stood true in every sense of the word. Actually $4 was more than what it was worth.. The park is the size of an average back yard. They don't even have a greenhouse. It was a sloppy cluster of very badly maintained plants n trees. I'm still trying to figure out how they have the audacity to call it a Botanical Garden, when it looks more like someone's overgrown backyard. It could not have been more disappointing to say the least. We got there at 10:00am and finished walking the whole park in under 30 min. The festival was a farce with armature designers. We left and decided to go to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens instead which I have to say blew us away!!!! By far the best one yet. It even beats the Bronx and that's saying a lot.. If anyone gets the chance to go please do. It's very easy to get to and on Saturdays it's FREE!!!!!!

If you live or for some reason are already in Queens it is worth a visit -- particularly in the summer when many of the flowers are in bloom. Certainly smaller and less impressive than Brooklyn and the Bronx, without the extensive conservatories the others have, but still worth dropping by if you like botanical gardens.

Stopped in here on the way to the airport in early April. Not much was in bloom and the grounds were fairly small. Overall, it seemed pretty much like a public park with some more signs. About the only upside is that they charge $3 for entrance and so it's fairly quiet in the garden. If you're here to see flowers and plants though, the offerings are pretty limited.

The gardens are small , very nice and well maintained . It wont take long to see everything but you can go eat in China Town nearby on Main Street .

It's just like any other botanical garden but a smaller. If you like visiting botanical gardens, it's a nice place but, I wouldn't travel far to go. I live not too far away. For me it was refreshing.

Has been renovated a lot recently . I havent been there for a year or so , but it is a beautifully maintained garden with many special collections of plants ,rose gardens etc . Worth spending some time to relax .

The Queens Botanical Gardens was revamped several years ago and it now looks more beautiful than ever before. It still remains somewhat small when compared to the botanical gardens in the Bronx and Brooklyn, but if you live nearby, you must visit this place at least once a year. Don't miss the lovely fountain and pool close to the front. The garden is free on Sundays between 4 and 6pm and Wednesdays between 3 and 6pm. Street parking is usually quite easy to find nearby.
