Not only is Smorgasburg a great place to visit for breathtaking views of Manhattan, but the food experience is truly one of a kind. I recommend walking around before buying anything so that you don't fall into the trap of buying too much! It gets crowded, but is well worth it.

great food festival--super variety--people who are absolutely passionate about their food. CARNAL was really great for lamb ribs and pork belly..Great stuffed squid..all items were around $10. went in Nov so no lines but I hear it gets really crowded in the summer. Walk across the Bklyn bridge, hang out in Brooklyn Bridge Park-enjoy amazing food and scenery.

Right on the river before it gets super cold so it's a nice view and if all the tables inside are full, you can get your food and head outside. It was super windy when we came here yesterday so there were tents flipping over which may have been the reason they opened late. Hold on to your money to spend on the mostly overpriced food! One kid dropped his $50 into the water next to the gate, maybe from the wind, and a guy had to climb in to get it for him. Served as a little entertainment while we were all waiting there hungry and cold.Takumi Taco:Spicy Tuna $6 (Tuna, jicama, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo)The first stand I went to and was kind of disappointed. First.. $6 for 1 taco!? Only fools like me would fall for that. I didn't taste any tuna but a lot of spicy mayo covered jicama.Mimi and Coco:There is the usual takoyaki with the octopus for $8 or you can try Teriyaki balls $6 with jumbo shrimp, potatoes or country sausage. I wanted to try the potato but didn't want to wait 5 minutes so I got the jumbo shrimp. The guy also wanted to put corn flakes on top which I was not for! bonito flakes only please. The shrimp was not jumbo and had way too much sushi ginger inside.mofon GO:Plantain bowl with sofrito, tomato sauce, bell peppers, onions and pork rind. You could get a veggie one but my friend and I got the chicken one. Didn't taste much chicken and didn't like so many olives but the plantain with the sauce was sooooo good! I need another one soon! There was also a coconut stand near the back. You buy the whole coconut, walk around drinking it and when there is no more juice, bring it back and the guy will cut it in half for you to eat and carve a spoon for you from the skin.Advice? Bring a lot of money! And look around before buying. There are so many options that it's not worth your money or being full off the first thing you see. Also, come early. By the time we were done eating and looked around, the place was full and the lines super long.

We spent the entire afternoon perusing and sampling the amazing foods that are Smorgasburg. So many choices, everyone was so friendly and the food was just plain fabulous.

I was travelling on my own, so eating in a restaurant didn't appeal to me on this visit. Smorgasburg was a wonderful experience and the food was absolutely fabulous. I wish I could have tried more. Red Hook Lobster roll - stunning. The backdrop of the Manhattan skyline is an added feature making this a must-do Sunday foodie experience.

Can't say enough about the Smorgasburg Brooklyn except that they are good. Best way to try new foods from restaurants you haven't visited. Loved everything we tried. We loved the Ramen Burger., Red Hook Lobster and the Lumpia Shack.

I'm a Brooklyn Heights native and the piers certainly were not like this, when I was growing up. Mom, would not have made such a large breakfast, if we knew were were coming here. Excellent.

For some reason, I thought there would be a fee to get in but there isn't. It's surprising clean and well organized and the people are friendly. The food is great, my fav was the lobster roll and the chicken sandwich on steam bread ( or something like that). So much good food! I would definitely go again.

They are better. There's better variety in this street fair, in this case a park fair, better quality, and taste. There are Caribbean, Indian, Thai, seafood (i.e. lobster rolls), those with sweets, ice cream, and some selling take homemade food items, plus a lot more. There is also a wine and beer section. I had a 20 oz. maple lemonade (loved it) and Thai empanadas. There is definitely some originality in the food choices here. At Pier 5 in Brooklyn Bridge Park the setting could be better. They are using one of the small tracks of land near the picnic are that has yet to be developed. The park itself is a stunner, 5 years in the making. It's not finished yet, but hopefully, when it is the venues like the Smorgasburg will continue and perhaps even in a more attractive setting. There are picnic tables to sit at, they could use more, but space is limited there. I do recommend going there are a lot of tempting choices. Check the Brooklyn Bridge Park calendar for lots of events. I went to Smorgasburg on a Sunday.

A wonderful place to visit on Saturdays. Very creative and diverse food variation from almost every corner in the world. I highly recommend not eating before you pay a visit. It's a must whenever you visit New York!

Read about these food markets which are popping up in Brooklyn and Williamsburg all summer so thoguht I would head down for 'sunday lunch'. There is a great choice of foods from Red Hook Lobster, Pizzas cooked in a trailer oven, to traditional american Hot Wings and Ice Cream Sandwiches. Well worth a wander down to (you can get a ferry across or the 2/3/4/5 to Borough Hall then walk down to the river front. After lunch you can wander along to the Brooklyn Bridge and back into Manhatten to walk it all off.

Vale a pena!
