This park has something for everyone: woods, farmland, hills, pastures, river views etc. Great all year round since you can cross country ski in the winter and walk the remainder of the year. There are so many trails from which to choose, cute bridges and streams. Even a cafe to stop at for lunch and fresh farm goods

This is an exceptional park with many trails! We took the one around the pond which is relatively flat and about a mile; perfect. For a Sunday afternoon in the fall. The ranger was excellent with lots of suggestions and answers. BEWARE parking is $6 and the machines do not give change. We just had a $10 and the ranger gave us change. Doesn't take credit cards. Will return.

Rockwood is actually part of Rockefeller State Park and is located off 9a on the west side of the State Park. Rockwood has lovely trails that run along and over the Hudson River. It include many specimen trees, including an amazing weeping beech, a fantastic sycamore, and wonderful maples and elms. The view of the Tappan Zee bridge is wonderful as is the view of the bluffs on the far side of the river. If you are visiting the other estates in the area, stop by here for a nice walk or stroll and bring a lunch!

This is a nature center with nice paths for hiking and nature watching. There is a small lake located in the middle with small hills and long paths. All the paths are clearly marked. One of the paths take you through a working farm. Great for working out or just taking a stroll.

We were lucky to have a very nice lady (glasses, short Grey hair - sorry didn´t ask for the Name) who did a fantastic Job in presenting this home and having lots of background Information about the house, the gardens and Rockefellers themselves - we were delighted to have this guided tour. We nearly never met someone who spoke so clear and understandable in a guided tour.

We were delighted to find this place as an open space only approximately 30 miles from the hustle and bustle of New York City, It is an idle spot for strolling, jogging, at your leisure. It has the nice Swan Lake located a short walk from the art gallery located at the entrance of the park. The lake is a a 22-acre lake which gives an added pleasure. My wife and enjoyed the experience of the natural wonders of the area. These scenic paths wind through wetlands, woodlands, meadows, and fields and the Swan Lake. We took some nice pictures. I would advise, not to go when it is very hot or humid. It is a walking experience, which will drain you on a hot humid day. If you go make sure to take along water on your stroll and stay mostly in the shaded areas. There is enough shaded areas to stay out of the hot sun. The place is best for those who are looking out to get away from the hustle bustle and come to enjoy the calm quiet and tranquility atmosphere. I would not recommend this place for children or teens. They will get fast bored in such a place. We were there during the summer. I don’t have any information if you want to visit in the winter. There is a fee for parking the car. There are soda and water vending machines at the parking lot. Also located at the parking lot, are the Ladies and Men’s Rooms.

This is a nature preserve started by the Rockefeller Family. There are many nature trails and a large lake. You can view the local area wildlife and bird population. There is available parking with a fee. Very beautiful location.

acres of wooded carriage trails, and hiking trails, some of which are along the Hudson River.Wonderful cafe with much of the food grown and baked here. Great for snowshoeing in the winter. Take a meandering walk around Swan Lake , or a hefty hike.

Beautiful nature preserve north of New York. Nice pond, animals, plenty of trails. We generally go up the hill on the east side of the preserve (across the lake when you start at the parking lot) and combine with a trip to the Stone Barn farm. Great for all seasons - even winter is great when the lake freezes over

Rockefeller's are the most generous neighbors for the 35 years we have lived in their neighborhood.....First, it was biking on the property (now banned in favor of horse back riders). The farm to table outdoor gardens are unique and the animals raised there in a responsible environment is thrilling. The kids love the sheep. pigs, chickens , turkeys (sadly gone this weekend for family dinners)....wonderful trails to walk and then, the hot chocolate/coffee before heading home. It is my # 1 site in W'chester.......Having said that, it will be even more populated after this review but it is a great find for anyone with children.......

Absolutely love Rockefeller to go walking the ground on weekends. It's so therapeutic walking in nature - seeing the animals, beautiful surroundings, etc.
