Vernon Downs gives us a local place to go for entertainment and food. I've attended many a concert here at unbelievable prices. This summer for only $15 or less a ticket we saw Jerrod Niemann and Love & Theft. Was a fund raiser for Central Food Bank and Jerrod played for over 2 hours himself! Winter is here, so for $15 we are going to the Journey Tribute concert and afterwards we will enjoy the local band playing at Ring Eye Pete's. Have been to several weddings at the Hotel, over the years have enjoyed the hotel and there terrific pool and hot tub! I'm not a big gambler but enjoy the slots on occasion.. When summer comes we plan on enjoying a horse race! My kids grew up in 4-H and every year the Standard Bred Association put on an entire "free" day of viewing local Standard Bred farms, the downs stables and then 4-H'rs and leaders were treated to a great buffet. That's giving back to the community! And in appreciation of their generosity we in turn do patronize the Vernon Downs Casino!

While playing slots at the gyp joint Turning Stone, a local woman recommended that this place was better. The next day we ventured here for lunch and to sample their slot selection. While the buffet was cheap, it was horrible. After lunch we sampled the slot area. Staff was friendly and machine selection was ample. This place is high above any NYS racino we have been to. We live near Hamburg and that place is deplorable. It used to be OK but they got miserably greedy. They took out the good machines and it's like a ghost town now. Will return here. Just wish it were closer.

Visited here in early December. The casino building is basically a boring square box. Not much thought went into its design. Although it is non smoking there are still smokers outside and you have to inhale second hand smoke upon entering. Once inside the slots payout nothing and are just as bad as turning stone. The employees here , just like TS, seem to hate their jobs and it shows. Also you have to pay for alcohol while feeding the slots just like TS !!! Went to the buffet here and the food is the same as TS . . . . Terrible ! Both casinos are a waste of time and money. Save your money and go to the real regulated casinos that do payout in fabulous Las Vegas !!

Vernon Downs has built a whole new complex next to the race track. Hotel and casino are fantastic. Got a good price on their website and the casino was paying way better than turning stone. Also no smoking inside - Loved that.

Went to the casino while staying in the hotel, it was very small and no tables just machines. Very sad about that.Drinks were overpriced at the bad...$5 for a beer is insane even worse when it's old beer. (Boston Lager was old, tasted extremely bitter).

We stopped at Vernon Downs Casino recently and had an enjoyable time. We ate at Champions Buffet and thought that the food was very good. There was salad, soup, breads, hot entrees and a selection of wonderful desserts....something for everyone. We played the slots for a while and won a bit! Our only disappointment was that there are only slots and no table games. The entire facility was very clean. It is a smaller quieter more relaxed casino which we welcomed! We will be back.

This is a small but well run casino in the Vernon Downs Hotel, which I've reviewed separately. Service was great, we made a few bucks in the slots, and it was a nice change to have live races a swift shuttle ride next door. The only thing lacking was table games which is what my husband is into, but for an overnight stay in the hotel it was quite enjoyable.

Very quiet casino but make sure you eat before you get there the food is not worth it. The staff was very helpful.

Hi, Vernon Downs is not Vegas, a fancy resort, the Caribbean nor a place for "big spenders"It is a place to relax, have a decent meal, enjoy the pool and do a "little" gambling at the slot machines and spend time at the track. They give you a nice break from your work schedule. Understand this is not a place for high rollers. Everything about Vernon Downs is friendly and about having a nice time. It is very clean, well-kept, and the prices are reasonable. Vernon Downs is not a secret any more! BIGMIC

large but not huge, café food was good and reasonable. Staff at guest services weren't quite as friendly as other places I've visited

This is a low-end casino at a harness racetrack. A little run down.My biggest complaint is they keep sending me offers (Clambake, July 4th picnic, etc.) however when I call to confirm, they are ALWAYS booked. I've called to confirm these offers the second the offer hits my mailbox, and they are ALWAYS booked. Why bother to send them.My advise: Since Turning Stone has modernized their operation, its a far better casino. I will be going there exclusively from now on.

We stopped for lunch at the casino and had a very nice and plentiful buffet (with a senior discount) over-looking the race track where the horses were being exercised. A lovely, sunny day and a beautiful view.
