We came with friends and were surprised not many other visitors were here. It's a serene and peaceful spot but could be much more,like many sights on the island it just seems half done. The koi pond was nice and statuary from China. If you would like to stroll leisurely in a garden and chill for an hour come here.

Disappointingly poor maintenance makes this a depressing place to visit. And none of the buildings are open on Mondays.

First of all the Gardens are difficult to find. The Museum needs to work on better signage throughout their grounds. If you are looking for restrooms you can find them in the Children's Museum on the same property. When we first saw the Chinese structure and grounds we thought they were built 50 or more years ago, but later found it's 15 years old. It is in need of a lot of repairs. Wood is rotted and columns cracked and the surrounding grounds in dire need of weeding. I hope money can be put into this once beautiful site.

It's as if you not only stepped back in time, but did so in China. The plants, flowers, flowing waters, and ancient architecture here are wonderful. We were here twice. The first time was a few years back, but without a guide. This time we were with a tour group and had a Snug Harbor guide to explain the history and the meanings of what we were seeing. It made a world of difference.

This authentic Chinese scholar's garden is the real thing. Workers, experts and materials from China were brought in years ago to build this garden, which features Chinese rooms, courtyards and pools. It's a great place to stop touring for a few minutes and just sit and meditate on your surroundings. Beautiful!

Its not too hard to find and its a very peaceful and pretty place. I'm surprised not a lot of people know about this place. We were there for over an hour and nobody else ever joined us, and the guy that sold us the tickets was very friendly and told us quite a bit about the place. Thank you!

Peaceful, beautiful and elegantly appointed, it is like taking a trip to rural China. The spring boasts lovely foliage including magnolias. On the grounds of the beautiful Snug Harbor.
