I took my 3 kids to SRCO several times over the past 15 years and every time it was awesome. Dave and his staff pull out all the stops to give ever tip possible to help me have a great trip. I've been to other locations further South and while they were good too....SRCO always had that extra added touch. Thanks everyone.

There is no better place for getting information on paddles anywhere in the Adirondacks. They are very knowledgeable and happy to share that knowledge. Friendly folks at both locations. Owner Dave Cilley has compiled a guide book that is indispensible in planning a trip. Accompanying map(s) made it easy to see where you are going and what to expect.

Sorry to hear your trip didn't work out as expected. We are very disappointed with Adirondack Scenic Railroad and their lack of communication with us regarding their sudden closure, which we were not made aware of. We did try to rectify the situation by giving you a full refund. We do understand that nothing makes up for disappointed children though, so we apologize again.

We were two couples with varied levels of Kayaking expertise. Because of this we had a tough time making our mind up about where we wanted to go. The whole staff was engaging and friendly and helped us make the right decisions. A good selection of kayaks and lots of fun.

What a nice paddle. I contacted St Regis Outfitters months before our trip to the Adirondacks and explained what type of trip we were looking for, we have a canoe at home, but due to the convenience of having a dropoff and pick up considered this to be a better option. I recieved an email outlining a suggested route for my husband, me and our small dog. We don't like paddling in lakes much and so we tooka river to Moose Pond where we pulled out and did a small hike to have lunch at the pond. We then continued on to Permanent Rapids and were picked up at that location. It was a fun trip we saw lots of wildlife a bald eagle, muskrats swimming under our boat, and lots of fish and herons. My only complaints were the route we took was near the road for a good part of the trip so we could hear and occasionally see cars. Also the pull out point before permanent rapids is not well marked so we were a little nervous to miss it and get pulled intot he rapids, but thankfully a phone call and some direction helped us to manage our way to the pull out successfully and the rapids started a ways up so we weren't in any danger of getting soggy.

My girlfriend and I rented a canoe for a four day excursion through the St. Regis wilderness area. The staff we dealt with were all friendly and helpful. I had an email exchange with Dennis, was checked in over the phone by Sarah, and dealt with Brian and Tim at the Floodwood base to check out/return our canoe. They all explained everything patiently and with great detail and made us feel confident on our first overnight canoe trip. Being in the area for the first time, it was a little overwhelming trying to decide on the best route through the lakes, but the staff helped us out with several recommended routes and optional sidetrips, all of which were worthwhile. If we're ever in the area again - which we hope to be - we'll definitely rent our canoes from St. Regis!

St. Regis was terrific from start to finish in helping us plan and execute our 4-hour kayak ride down the Saranac River. They helped us choose the route that was best for the kind of ride we wanted, sent us off with a waterproof map and pics for landmarks, and were very prompt in picking us up after our tour was over. They also have a shop stocked with anything you might need for your trip. I strongly recommend getting a pair of paddling gloves as they SAVED my hands from the blisters I have gotten in the past paddling without them.

Remotely located, like the Adirondacks themselves, St. Regis has made a business in the middle of nowhere, just where they are needed. So many folks have experienced the canoe area due to St. Regis that they deserve their success for what they continue to do for the area.

My husband and I rented a couple of kayaks last weekend to explore some of the lakes in the region. The staff was great recommending the best location to suit our preference - we do not like crowds and wanted to explore nature in a quiet area with no motorboats. The Floodwoods loop was perfect with Common Loons sharing the waters along with many endemic marsh species along the Fish Creek. Very scenic and relaxing. We did have some difficulty with transporting the kayaks, but the staff was very accommodating and it all worked out after a bit of difficulty.

So four Jersey girls decide to rent some canoes.....we found out about Saint Regis and we could not have been more pleased. This was just this past Friday, July 11 th, 2014. First, all of the boys that work there are super cute!!! Seriously, they were beyond helpful and professional. We took a 2 1/2 canoe trip on the most beautiful lake. We stopped ate lunch and paddled on. Don't be afraid if you never did anything like this before. It really is beautiful. Two of my friends had never done it either, and they did fine. It was so quiet, we were sometimes the only ones on the lake. We actually arrived at our destination early, we just called them up and they picked us up in a matter of minutes. I cannot say enough positive things about Saint Regis, the employees and the area itself. So beautiful.. Thank you guys for a wonderful experience. It made turning 50 that much better!!!! I would do it again in heart beat. If you want a great experience, I highly recommend Saint Regis.

St Regis has everything that you need. The guys were very helpful in loading the 2 canoes on our roof rack using their 2 by 4s. They gave good instructions for the field. They lent us a map. Look at their rates on line-- a little pricey.

Thanks so much for your glowing review! We're so glad you found the gear of such quality, we work hard to ensure that we rent only the top of the line brands and equipment. The Long Pond area is certainly lovely, and it sounds as though the conditions were wonderful. We look forward to helping you explore more of the Adirondack backcountry in future years!
