Was dating someone who had relatives who lived on the Lake part of the year. Had a blast in the rugged terrain and beautiful natural landscapes around the lake; as well as having fun learning to water ski, even if it meant sinking before I could stand in motion. Nothing like this remote gem of a lake; and I hope it doesn't get too crowded any time soon.

I'd only been to lakes or river shores when in Germany or the Italian Alps, so it was with relief that we heard of this place to head for a picnic and to chill out in the scorching hot summer of 2012. The public access part of the lake is clean and tidy with totes for changing and plenty of space to set up by the shore and let the kids splash or swim out to the many floating booms. There were lifeguards there on both a Sunday afternoon and Tuesday so we were pleased to let the kids spend hours in the water
