At A Gust of Sun Winery The staff is fantastic and the wines are a pleasure.... we found the winery on our way home from Niagara Falls Dec 14, 2014. Lo and behold we fell into a wine and chocolate pairing... Get this !!! 4 Wines with chocolate pairings for $5... Amazing!! The wifey and I had a fine sampling of at least 12 different wines between us, and we had a slight shine on when we left. Very knowledgeable young people on staff doing a fine job of serving their wares.

Before our anniversary dinner, this was our first stop on The Wine Trail, en-route to Lockport. Expecting it to be bigger, we were very pleased with the cozy barn on the edge of the vineyard. The tasting was reasonably priced with a good variety. Many wineries have no sitting opportunities, for A Gust of Sun we were offered to go upstairs to relax. This opens up the bar setting for other customers. We could have purchased a bottle of wine to take upstairs, but did not have time. We will have time in the future as my wife joined their club that has many benefits. Check for yourself on their website. http://www.agustofsun.com

We spent the day on the Niagara Wine Trail and this was our favorite winery of the day. They had a good variety of wines to suit the varied tastes in our group. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. They had a nice outdoor area that we would like to go back and enjoy on a warmer day. We also enjoyed being entertained by the dogs.

This was one of our stops while on our wine tour from Georgia. The lady that did our wine tasting was very personable, and did a great job choosing wines we would enjoy. Their wines were very good, and affordable.

We have stop there twice this year. We are from Georgetown, SC My wife really like the Niagara wine. The westie dogs are nice because we have one home. The people at the store are friendly and gave us dog treats for the three dogs.

We live in the area and always enjoy a stop here for tasting and a glass of our favorite wine. There is a beautiful outdoor area in the nicer weather and a comfortable lounge upstairs for when the weather is less cooperative. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable making the experience that much better. Definitely worth a visit!

A Gust of Sun Winery is one of the best wineries that I have been to. I have been on many wine trails through Niagara (US/Canada) and the Great Lakes areas, and have always found that A Gust of Sun to be more friendly and comfortable than others. They do offer more dry wines than sweet, but recently have added some wonderful summer dessert wines. An added bonus of this location is their loft. Guests are able to take a glass or bottle of wine upstairs to relax on a couch or chair and listen to music or just converse. If you would like to spend more time outside, they offer a tented area and have very comfortable seating near their pond. Since the summer is upon us, A Gust of Sun has created three types of wine slushies made from their sweeter wines; Peach, Cherry, and Raspberry.Lastly I would have to say that the customer service at this winery has thoroughly impressed me. Though much of the staff seems younger, they all are very professional and knowledgeable. I recommend this winery if you want a small personable place to relax with great wine and great people.

I enjoy coming here, you are greeted by the friendly westies and the sample size and selections are generous. Staff is very helpful as well as knowledgable. A good selection if non wine items are also available for purchase. In the summer you have a nice view to sit and have a glass of wine. A must in the wine trail stop.

Gust of Sun was awesome! The staff, wine and westie dogs were top notch. I live in CO and I even joined the wine club! Loved receiving my wines. I like dry red wines and wasn't expecting to find any good ones on the trail. Gust of Sun definitely had great wines! Thank You!!!!

A Gust of Sun is a fantastic winery that I make sure I stop in to visit every time I am in the Niagara region. I've probably been there 5-6 times, and each time the person serving the tasting is friendly and fun. A Gust of Sun has delicious wines, both dry and sweet, and the fact that they have a gourmet chocolate pairing available for each wine makes it even better. This winery feels like a small mom and pop location, which makes it feel so much more welcoming than the commercial giants elsewhere. You can tell they care about making quality wine and they care about you; they're not just out to take every dollar they can from you.

Not only is the wine fantastic at Gust Of Sun, the atmosphere & staff is fabulous as well. Once you enter what appears to be beautiful barn on the outside is a gorgeous bar on the inside. The bathroom is very clean & is really different. You enter into a large wine barrel doors. You can tell these owners pride themselves on how well kept everything is. They also have an upstairs to escape to. You can rent the upstairs for birthdays, stagettes or for just a girls night out. This clean, friendly atmosphere keeps you coming back for more... Then you taste the wine & you won't want to leave !! They have many wines to choose from that are all unique & different. The staff is fully educated on all of them & explain every detail to you as you are sampling. The wines also are paired with amazing chocolates. Each chocolate is specially made for each wine they produce. They offer a special with their tastings for each sweet & dry. Normally I never like dry, well I have switched. The staff suggested just to "try" them & I am so glad I did I loved them all. I purchased a wine card from groupon which gives you discounts to save all along the wine trail. The card has paid for itself just in the first few visits. All of our wineries here are great. I must say this is my absolute favorite. Wine is amazing. Staff is amazing. Winery is beautiful. Location is easy to find. 4 stars all the way !!

What a great place, I stopped in just the other day the staff in the tasting room was beyond friendly. I wasn't in for a tasting (this time) but I just grabbed a quick bottle of wine, they gave my 2 year old same animal crackers to much on... It took all my will power to not walk out with some delicious chocolate too. If your lucky you'll get to spott the adorable mascot dogs in the side yard!!!!

We went to 5 "wineries" on the Niagara Wine Trail as part of our Travel Zoo promotional package with our stay at the Sheraton At The Falls June 28, 29.Gust of Sun was our first stop.I liked it the best of all 5 we visited because it was friendly and upbeat.Friendliness and excellent customer service go a long way to make up for a crappy product btw. This was the only winery of the 5 we visited that correctly rinsed your glass with wine, NOT WATER, before pouring you a new/different sample. This was the only winery that offered WINE SLUSHIES and I LOVE SLUSHIES!They offered delicious Animal Crackers to cleanse your palate, even though they should have offered bland, plain "Carr's Table Water Crackers" instead. (But I love animal crackers anyway.)The wine tasting 'bar' was in a newer, 'barn' type building. The "Barn" was very small, but clean, smelled good and was very well kept.OF ALL the wineries, THIS ONE OFFERED THE LARGEST SAMPLE SIZES.Their 'wines' weren't more than fermented juice. They didn't smell like wine. In fact, I commented how two different wines smelled the same: like formaldehyde. It was THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE THAT I EVER POURED 'WINE' OUT OF MY GLASS INTO A 'DUMPING CROCK.' Ewww!I learned that a lot of the wineries I visited on this tour were new, with young vines.I would describe these wineries as small 'Mom and Pop' operations; just big enough to engage in public tastings and bottling enough to sell at reasonable prices (DO NOT pay more than $12/bottle for these wines!) to unknowledgeable customers, but no where big enough to make a product I would like to have served to me, even at a 3.5 Star restaurant. We had to drive ourselves around this tour.It was not worth the hassle and fees to book a "limo" to drive our butts around to these "wineries" when we were only saving about $50 in wine tasting fees. On the contrary, it seemed a bit risky to get looped while driving yourself to and from these tastings. One can't go wrong with the wine slushies and friendly atmosphere at Gust Of Sun.Worth a visit if you know NOTHING about wineries and wine.Give these places a few years to refine their grapes and practices.Do yourself a favour and drive the extra 30 minutes into Canada and go to established, experienced wineries in Niagara On The Lake where you can find plentiful, affordable, transportation for your tour, and better yet, where you can find real wine, not vinegar to taste.

I have been to A Gust of Sun quite a few times, Their wines are some of the best in the area, and service is always great. I have been there on a bus tour, limo tour, with one other person, and to a few of their events. Service is always top notch and I feel like I am among friends. They have both sweet and dry wines, and delicious chocolate to pair with the wines if wanted. There is a beautiful room upstairs that can be rented out for events. This is a stop on the Niagara Wine Trail you really want to make.

You just can't go wrong with a trip to A Gust of Sun Winery! The staff is friendly and fun and the wines are some of the best on the trail. Be sure to try their dry and sweet Diamond wines, the sale of which contributes a dollar from each bottle sold to the Diamonds in the Ruff dog rescue!
