After a few hot dogs from the truck down the road, I parked at the designated picnic area and began my hike. Up I went until I hit a ridge line. Never saw the carved stones or much of any thing. Lost the trail and went down hill along a electric line right of way. Ended up at the back of somebody's house with a steep drop down to the yard. They were kind enough to install rope to hold unto and help your self down the slope. I guess this has happened before ? What happened ? Either Isis stole the statues or I was tripping on some bad Hot Dogs !

I have driven by many times, but recently hiked up with my wife and son for a picnic. Wow! About a half mile hike brings you to the carvings in the rocks which are very cool. You can then walk to the top and stand at a couple of clearings and take in a great view. We sat there and had a picnic lunch. Very interesting history of Col. Pratt. This is a free attraction and self guided. It's easy to drive by and not pay it much attention, but it is worth the hike.
