The accommodations are not only rustic - they are sub-standard (picture a trailer built onto the side of a barn). We could hear every move made in the room above us and therefore got little sleep. Not a plus when you are skiing. The rooms were borderline deplorable and the kitchen did have running water (with a space heater operating in the cabinet beneath it) - so I guess it was a kitchen. If the cost were $50/night, I would have said "no problem". But at $50/per person (or $200 for a family of 4) it was an insult.

My teenage son and I spent the weekend at R&R Dude Ranch, wasn't sure what to expect and was very surprised to what we found! We loved the country feel of the ranch. Loved the creek running through it. The horses were so friendly and beautiful. They had a horse to meet everyone needs. I am disabled and Steve got me up on a horse and walked me around for a very long time through all of the scenery...just beautiful! I was thrilled to actually be able to ride a horse again! My son had a ball as well, he didn't want to leave! The food was good, the accommodations were great, the staff was Excellent! Looking forward to going back this summer!I would highly recommend R&R Dude Ranch to anyone young and old if your looking for a fun horseback riding country experience, just beautiful!!!

This past summer my family and I ventured out to find a place that provided a natural setting for riding horses with other amenities included. We have four children ranging from 2 yrs. to 7 yrs. old so we needed to accommodate everyone. A friend had mentioned R & R Dude Ranch to us quite a few times and showed us some pictures of their adventures there. We were extremely excited to take the trip from Rochester, Ny to Otto, Ny and partake in the fun. Upon arriving, Steve, one of the guides, greeted us or “Cowboy” as our 3 yr. old referred to him as. Our 2-yr.old son was beyond excited. He wanted to get on the big horse and be like “Woody” in toy story. However, our 3-yr.old daughter was rather reluctant, that is when Steve took us to meet “Pouch”, a pony they have there, and immediately she was relaxed and ready to ride. He helped her to feel comfortable and once she got on, she did not want off. Now for us being such a large family, price was definitely a subject that we did not take lightly and surprisingly they were affordable. Our twin 7 yr. olds were taken out on a trail ride and when they came back, it was nearly time for lunch. Imagine four children that have waited for an experience like this for as long as they have been around and try telling them it was time to go. Not a pleasant moment but as we were attempting to pack up and go, Alice the owner came out and asked us if we would like to eat lunch there, she said she had some left over food from staff lunch and wouldn’t mind sharing and that the kids may enjoy tubing in their creek afterwards. My husband and I were extremely grateful for her kindness and generosity. The staff was great and treated us as if we were family and the kids loved all the different animals that nestled in at this ranch. We had a blast and what was supposed to be an early day of riding with the kids turned into a beautiful day filled with surprises. They even threw in a bomb fire at dusk with smores…yum! We will be heading back to visit our newfound family and instead of hotel accommodations were staying right there in the “Bunker House” with all the natural smells of the ranch life.

We just love this place. For over 10 years my husband, son, daughter and I have been coming to the ranch a few times a year. We have also brought several of our friends out with us. Sometimes we are only there for a few hours but mostly we stay 3 - 5 days. It has always been a wonderful experience! The rooms are spotless, the food is yummy, the camp fire is relaxing and the horses are very well taken care of. And it is open all year round, so I can honestly say I have ridden a horse in all 4 seasons. Most recently in the Snow! It was SO much fun. I can't wait to get out there again to go riding with "Cowboy Steve".My favorite time of year to be there is the summer. I like to bring a chair into the creek to sit and read. Awh ... and the star glazing ... it's so dark at night you can see lots of stars.I strongly recommend the R&R Dude Ranch as your next time away from home.

We were down for a weekend and were so embarrassed and belittled by a member of the staff named John that we were thinking of packing up and leaving. We toughed it out one more day and wished we had left. Some members of the staff including the owner don't seem to care about the customer. My wife was so embarrassed she didn't want to even see any of the staff on our way out.We also felt quite bad for a number of the horses as it looks like they are kept in a muddy pen and one had quite a bad limp, that was normal apparently when I stated I wouldn't ride her in that condition.Overall we have had better experiences on trail rides.

We were a group of 30 canadian, that we "thought" we are going to have a "nice Thanksgiving" at the horse ranch farms. Was far from being true!!!!We supposed to have accomodations in 6 cottages. We found out that, they were some extension added to the owner house, which she calls" cottages".The "Loft Apartment" and "The Bunker House" were build in the priviously "Horse Stable" and smelt as a horse s.....Unsanitary condition,no breakfast provided,VERRRYY EXPENSIVE,overcharged in horse riding, overall the worse Thanksgiving we ever had.I would NOT reccomend to anybody to book reservation, special with small kids until you see the place.GOOD LUCK!!!
