The historic Riviera Theatre offers tours of the building and I brought a large group in to check it out. What a gem! This building is what makes Buffalo so outstanding with it's architecture. The theatre is absolutely gorgeous, with chandeliers, beautiful woodwork, murals, etc. For only $10.00 a person, we were given a slide show presentation about the building's history, then we were given a tour of the entire building and finally we got to watch an old silent film accompanied by a live Wurlitzer organ music! All of the volunteers were connected to the theatre's history and had great memories of visiting when they were children. Just by the tour alone, you can tell how much love they all put into caring for this old building.

We have been coming here for many, many years. We have enjoyed organ concerts, various plays and events and found all of them to be very enjoyable. We used to bring our kids here on New Years Eve to see movies. The live performances that currently run are great.

The Riviera Theatre is on the National and New York State Register of Historic Places. The theatre has undergone restoration and is a prime example of a 1920's theatre. The theatre is home to the Mighty WurliTzer Organ. Entertainment includes various concerts, films and organ concerts.Seating is comfortable and good with padded seats. I have attended many events at the theatre and enjoy going there.

we hit here for the first time in a couple years to hear the "One and Only Tommy Dorsey Orchestra," just the right combo for this historic venue which continues in terrific shape despite the mysterious disappearance of long-time artistic director Frank Cannatta... great organ concert before the Big Band, with the Mighty Wurlitzer rising from the orchestra pit to fill the hall with show tunes and patriotic odes... we weren't exactly pleased with the incessant hawking of gund-raising raffle tickets, but perhaps that's part of the hometown charm... they aren't pushy and WILL take no for an answer, but we found it distracting... necessary evil?...

Saw Hugh Laurie at the Riviera and was not dissapointed at all by both the performance and the theatre. Great atmosphere and acoustics along with comfortable seating. All the staff is accomodating and friendly. Parking can be tough but gives a great chance to park a little further away and take a short walk on the pedestrian friendly street with restaurant options all around.

Any number of very nice shows in a theater brought back from rags.It has steadily improved over the years and has had more new, interestingproductions as the rehabilitation has progressed.Well priced and comfortable. Like a mini Sheas Buffalo.

Have been here many times. Love the theater and very happy with their selections. Seats are good from anywhere.

The last visit to this venue was in June to see the opera, "Tosca." I appreciate what has been done thus far. However, the seating is a bit cramped for the older set who attend events like this one. Handicap and mobile accessibility need to be of greater priority. I understand that much of the effort is on a volunteer basis, but more efficient means of securing tickets needs to be arranged. The performances are wonderful. It's getting to and from your seat in this very old theater which is the problem. The nostalgic ambience is very good for the seniors attending performance and an experience in history for younger people. It would be great to find a benefactor willing to underwrite financially the improvements that so desperately need to be done. The Rivera Theater is a gem to be treasured. However, it takes patience and fortitude to endure a cultural event presently performed at this location.

So much goes on at this theater! Movies, plays, concerts, etc. We came in March for the Matt's Music 50th anniversary celebration and enjoyed the theater all over again! We also visited for several other of the theater's events.

Come enjoy the Riviera Theatre. Quite a piece of old movie & stage theatre with a playing organ that rises out of the stage. If going to a venue, check to see if the organ will be playing 30 minutes prior to the show. Well worth getting there early just for the opportunity. Old time music that anyone can enjoy. Saw "Dancing in the Street" at this billing. First half of show they were chasing the sound system. Better 2nd half, but a good sound check could have prevented this. Seating was great, but don't expect any cup holders. Can only think what it was like seeing a movie in the balcony. Beautiful place to see a show. Popcorn and candy available. Old time movie house like in "Back to the Future" with the ticket booth centered in the front. They have old movies on Thursday nights during the summer for only $3.00! Worth going back. Also, singers of yesterday like Temptations, Bobbie Vinton & Frankie Avalon to be there during the year.

This is a great piece of North Tonawanda History. The Theatre is beautiful...I have seen movies and concerts here. The Wurlitzer organ is amazing. A must-see...and hear.

This theatre is a landmark; very good acoustics. They have wonderful concerts and events and we attend many frequently.

The theatre is a lovely example of theaters of yesterday that are still open and producing great entertainment. My only complaint is there is not enough parking. Get there early for the lot or find space on the street.

An old man was playing the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ to old black and white silent films of Charlie Chaplain and Laurel and Hardy. There was no music score before him. He didn't need one!We could walk to the movies when I was a child. Now, under fabulous management, the Riviera draws famous artists and performers from all over the world. Keep your eyes open for future events!
