Quality wine, quality service, nice outdoor and indoor facilities to enjoy. It is a permanent spot in our rotation on our visits to the North Fork and we have never had a bad moment there.

We arrived at this lush vineyard and were really treated nicely by a true pro! Property was beautiful and some live music as well. It was perfect. I preferred to be seated at the group tasting. There were 7 of us. But it was wonderful and I send strength to the children of the original owners for the parent very recent and sudden deaths. Bring them business. Support them to carry on the proud name. I will visit again and spend time enjoying the grounds and outdoor music steps away from the miraculous rows and rows of vines of grapes

.The wines, though, were fine and the people very friendly. The tastings were reasonably priced. They sell cheese plates here but you can also bring your own food to picnic outside. Our recommendation is to go about three miles east to the Cheese Shop in Mattituck and put together a picnic to take here, if the weather is cooperative.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff took us through our tasting and offered suggestions based on our likes. Very easy going staff, not high pressure. Lovely outdoor area with beautiful views of the vines.

Excellent, food friendly wine produced from their own vines. The staff is helpful and knowledgable. The reserve merlot was good at the tasting, but outstanding when consumed at dinner a few days later. Strongly recommended.

A pleasant visit to this vineyard. Sadly after the passing of both of the owners, but truely a great winery and very friendly and knowledgeable people at the helm.I enjoyed a bottle of the Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc with my family. We spent 3hrs with our children and my westie and have a pleasant time. The ladies came out to see how we were doing and even brought out a bowl of water for my doggie. This is the oldest vineyard on the North Fork and a true gem. I tip my hat to the children who are now taking over operations of the vineyard and wish them all the best for the future of this staple in the north fork. Xoxo

I came back to Castello di Borghese because I had such a pleasant experience the first time. I also remembered this as one of the best wineries in the North Fork - I was even more impressed this time. This was my boyfriend's first visit and all he kept saying was "I can't believe this is Long Island wine!" We will definitely be returning and this was the ONLY winery where we bought bottles to take home.

As a certified sommelier and industry oenophile, I am immersed in the world of wine. The reader of this missive must understand a couple of points to make sense of ratings of Long Island (LI) wineries. First, please do not compare the apples of LI wines to the oranges of west coast wines. This is unfair. Instead, compare LI wines between themselves. Second, ratings should be based not only among the wines, but also on each winery experience. Specifically, each tasting room should be judged upon the host’s criteria of helpfulness, hospitality, information, knowledge, passion, etc. After visiting about 15 different LI wineries, I give CASTELLO DI BORGHESE wines 5 stars and Evie, the tasting room manager, 5 stars. As a group, the BORGHESE wines are substantially superior to the product all other LI wineries’– a sharp contrast with the mostly mediocre LI plonk I tasted through the weekend. In fact, it was the only winery (besides Leib) where I purchased any wine (I bought 3 bottles of different types). Evi has true knowledge of the character of each wine and articulates it – not merely a regurgitation of a series of bullet points issued by the winemaker. She is perky, professional and cute!

Great wines and fabulous, friendly hosts. Poured additional wines, not part of the flight, for us to try. Smart...we bought one of those additional tastes.

Lovely, cosy and unpretentious tasting bar. Beautiful surroundings. The Riesling was one of the best I have ever had.

My sisters, cousins and I wanted to celebrate our moms' 65th birthdays in style. Being that our moms are triplets, we had three times the fun! We decided to spend the day at the vineyards out east on Long Island. We booked a tour of the vineyard/ winery at Castello di Borghese and we had a great time! Our guide was informative and taught us about the inner working of this beautiful winery. She brought us to where the grapes are made into delicious wine. I loved the fact that everything at this boutique style vineyard is done by hand. The tour was followed up with a tasting of the delicious wines from this special place. One of the ladies even gave the birthday girls a free bottle of wine to have with our lunch. I highly recommend this vineyard to anyone looking to spend a special day on the north fork of LI.

A delightful old-world vineyard - nothing industrial about the exquisite property or the nuanced wine. The tasting was very generous too - with a wide variety of wine and price points. Now my fave on the North Fork.

The ambiance of this winery is very welcoming and homey. The staff were incredibly friendly and down to earth. Other winery's in the area are not so friendly. They are more stuck up. The vineyard is beautiful and the seating outside is peaceful especially with a glass of wine in hand. The tour was very interesting. My friend and I had a private very intimate tour with Allerga. She was so passionate about the wines and explained everything and answered all of our questions. I learned a lot. Allerga was so down to earth and friendly it was like talking to one of our friends. The wine tasting portion of the tour was even better. Allerga spoke to us about our preference in taste and accommodated us according to our tastes. We tried delicious variations of the wines of the vineyard. I found the white Pinot nior especially interesting. The story behind that is great ! I won't ruin it for anyone taking the tour but it is a must try. So may wines were my favorite. The founders wine was delicious as well. It is made from the oldest grapes and the original vines. We ended with the Allerga dessert wine. It had such a refreshing great taste to it. I purchased an autograph copy from Allerga of it. I will definitely be going back not only for the wine but the people as well. The art gallery had beautiful pieces in it as well. This is a must see vineyard.
