I am glad you enjoyed the tour. The brick pathways and lighting ensures the safety of our employees and guests to be able to enjoy the cave. Just about every commercial cave has some sort of material to make the walkways safe for visitors.

While we may not be as large as Mammoth cave, since Mammoth Cave is the largest cave in the country, we are the largest cave in the Northeast and have our own unique features. A cave has many more features than size alone. We hope you were able to appreciate our cave and all its beauty.

I wish it was possible to leave the walkways out of the cave but unfortunately so many people would not be able to enjoy the cavern tour without them. Without the walkways there would be a lot of walking in the streambed and climbing over mounds of sharp rock. The walkways enable many people to see the immense beauty of the cave without damaging it further with touching and without risking the safety of our guests. We hope you will be able to visit us again in the future.
