You may not see beavers at Beaver Island State Park, but it's a quiet respite from shopping, summer heat or a couple of hour retreat. Good Golf Course, nice Frisbee walk, pretty bird spotting (yes, bald eagles) & a tiny beach for the kiddies. Great picnic places.

Lots of recreational activities to pursue including boating, kayaking, hiking plue a beach to enjoy in the summer. Paddles Up, a kayaking event, attracts hundreds of adventurers in late July.

this is a kind of sprawling, multi-use, minimally maintained park space with a golf course (see separate review) and a spread of sand once unfairly described as the world's worst beach... nice sledding hill in winter and many picnic spots as well as disc golf... nothing, really, to write home about, and we live here... like to come down here and look at the buffalo city lights and/or fireworks but the local gestapo patrol this so well, they oughta' be in the Secret Service, or not

I was staying in a nearby campground and decided to explore this park by bike. It did not offer camping but looked like a great place to spend the day. Many, many picnic sites, wooded, bike and walking trails. It had a golf course and a frisbee golf course and a nice looking sandy beach area on the river with life guards. The person working at the entrance was not very helpful and had no written info to give me, but later I came upon an office that had all the pamphlets and maps. I thought it was a beautiful park.

Nestled at the southern end of Grand Island is a lovely day use state park. Beaver Island is a 950 acre park with a 1/2 mile sandy beach. There is also an 80 slip marina (seasonal and transient), fishing access, all kinds of boat launches, bike and nature trails, playgrounds, picnic areas and shelters, a boardwalk, athletic fields, horseshoe pits, an 18 hole championship disc gold course, and 18 hole championship golf course (with a snack bar), and all kinds of winter activities are allowed there, also (some need permits). The Grand Island Historical Society meet in River Lea,the home of Grover Cleveland's nephew (Cleveland actually visited there). Unfortunately, I have yet to attend one of their open houses (Sept 21, 2-4 is the next one, I think). The new Beaver Island Clubhouse has banquet facilities and catering available. The snack bar (which seemed to offer only hot dogs and ice cream today). changing/rest rooms are at the back of the Clubhouse. All-in-all, this is a nice park for all ages. This year the rate seems to be $7 per car. Seniors - M-Th is free if you show your license.

The state park is worth the trip if in the area. Nice setting on the river and great for a family picnic.

Great views of Buffalo and Canada, lots of different things to do and never too busy. Watch for speed traps on the way in from the parkway.

Went to Beaver Island to play disc golf with my friends and we had a great choice. Park is very clean and open. There is lots to do for the family and the disc golf course was amazing. Awesome layout, with wide open holes for beginners. Course is well maintained. When you pay to enter the park let them know your playing disc and they will give you a score card!

A very nice park, clean and safe. The beach does not compare to vacation spots but for those living near it is a good place for families to cool off in the hot weather and have a picnic.

On the river and they have lifegaurds and a beach. Plenty of shaded spots with picnic tables and grills. I walked the nature trail and the park is clean and very relaxing. Great park for a family to spend a day at or solo like myself and just relax.

Nice sightings, nice park to walk around. Went to go swimming and the water was very nasty and the bottom was full of slimy algae. I do not recommend swimming here! It's not worth it!

Nice area for events, peaceful walking paths and area for riding. Just going and setting in your car is nice. Saw a wedding while I was there once and beautiful setting for one. Enjoyed the visit each time.
