Our group stopped here on a cold winter day and we were very impressed by the centre. The views were great, and inside there was a huge atrium with a mural being painted. The room where you could listen to the library of thousands of bird calls was cool.

The "Lab of O" is always a good place to visit. Even when it's cold outside, their large indoor viewing area and exhibits offer lots to see and learn. They have lots of family-friendly events and their Facebook page gives regular updates of interest to even casual birdwatchers.

Loved the birdwatching on Sunday morning. The guide was knowledgeable and very helpful and it was an extremely pleasant walk.

The main building has a bird song laboratory where one can pull up bird songs and nice manicured trails. But, I would keep away during the black fly and mosquito times of the years as the place is swampy.

Even though we could barely spend 30 minutes there, it felt magical to be in the mecca for bird watchers! We will definitely be back to spend a day

The location is perfect to look out into Sapsucker Woods with the provided binoculars and see many varieties of birds and wildlife. The staff is knowledgeable, the space amazing and every time you go there is an opportunity to learn something new. There is a lot of programming offered on the weekends including guided tours for birds.

The Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology is the best location in the country to learn all there is about birds and birdwatching. They have a lovely site with an observation area just adjacent to a lively pond filled with a lot of waterfowl and edge species. They have weekly lectures every Monday evening that are open to the public. These talks feature prominent bird people from around the globe. The topics range from photography to bird conservation and a whole lot inbetween. In the spring, there is a wonderful Spring Field Ornithology course which allows a choice of either lectures alone or the added pleasure of the field trips each weekend (some, overnight). Researchers at the lab are aided by the world class Sound Library with recordings of birds as well as marine mammals. There are bird walks scheduled regularly (call or check the website for details) and in short, the CLO is an incredible place to visit if you have an interest in the natural world.

I visited with family the day after Christmas. Unfortunately the visitor center was not open. There are several trails of various lengths to choose from/ We chose a shorter one. We did see some birds, a muskrat or two and some ducks. We had an enjoyable walk.

New to the Ithaca area, we decided to check out the Ornithology lab and are so glad we did - as a result our bird feeders are now hung and quite active, I have the Cornell "Merlin Bird ID" app on my I Phone and we look forward to future visits!

This is a lovely place to walk. There are several trails - non of which take too long. It's a great place to enjoy being out on nature and to get some exercise. Very peaceful. Very well kept up. I was visiting the area w a friend and we wanted to be outside but didn't want something strenuous.

We thought there would be displays of live birds in a sanctuary within the building, but the only live birds you can see is on their close-circuit TV in the little book store which shows the birds at the outside feeders. There are cool books, etc., though.

Several miles of beautiful trails through huge oaks and around ponds give many opportunities for reflections as well as bird-watching. Binoculars are available fort check-out.

We're just beginner bird watchers, and this was an opportunity to learn some more skills. Best of all, there's an indoor observation area next to a pond with multiple habitats, so while it was raining, we saw lots of different bird species without much hiking.The trails on the grounds were beautiful during peak fall colors, but we only heard, not saw, several species of birds, probably because the walking fostered some great conversation, and we weren't paying strict attention.
