去之前正好下了一晚大雨，所以瀑布的水流特别急，平常可以走到接近瀑布的地方拍照，那次站在离瀑布200米的桥上都会被溅到雨雾。声音很大，像一条细细的白练突然从50米高处坠落，然后向东流进Cayuga湖。是Ithaca的标志性景点。对面的州立公园尤其漂亮，湖水清澈见地。走Trail见到瀑布，这条Trail秋天也是十分美丽。

I've been here all four seasons now and it never fails to be a gorgeous (gorges) sight every single time. Even when completely frozen in the middle of Winter, it was a magnificent view -- well worth the trip out into the cold.Go see it!

This is a fabulous place and the falls tremendous. On a winter visit we checked the overlook and then drove down to the trailhead that goes in about a mile to the falls. This is the first winter where the Parks have plowed that trail so we didn't need snowshoes. The falls themselves had a huge ice dome at the base and when combined with the ice from above effectively reduced the length of fall to about a third of normal.

Taughannock Falls State Park is one of the gems of the Finger Lakes. I always feel as if I am on vacation when I'm there, even though it's just a few miles from my home! The park has a prime location on Cayuga Lake. There are many picnic tables, grills, & shelters which makes picnicking a pleasure. The park has a great playground, a small marina, a swimming area, and two walking trails, in addition so several waterfalls (besides the main attraction, Taughannock Falls).

Fairly level walk along the river to the base of the falls during the fall season is incredibly beautiful.

The Taughannock Falls is a beautiful attraction. It is, apparently the highest single drop waterfall in North America east of the Rockies so it is an impressive view indeed.There are two trails in the park. The gorge trail is through the gorge itself up to the waterfall. It offers an impressive view up the waterfall and the stone canyon it is in. Walk is easy and pleasant with no elevations to speak of.The rim trail is longer and more challenging than the gorge trail. It starts at the bottom of the gorge and goes to the top of the canyon walls, about 400 feet elevation. The trail continues to some of the lower falls behind the main cataract. Note that the rim trail is not overly strenuous and shouldn’t be a problem for any healthy person.

The hike from the lower falls to the upper falls may challenge some people. However, the views along the path are lovely and mostly quiet (although often too close to the road). The upper falls are a pleasant experience worth packing a picnic lunch to enjoy.

I grew up in T-burg and never really appreciated the beauty of Taughannock Park until I grew up and shared with my family and friends. The Falls overlook is beautiful at any season. The trail to the base of the falls is most enjoyable in the summer when you can wander off the trail and wade through the shallow water of the creek. When I was a teenager you were able to hike down off the rim trail path to be able to stand at the top of the falls. Fences prevent this daredevil adventure now a days. Great place to bring any new friend or coworker who is new to the Ithaca area.

This falls is 300 feet higher than Niagara Falls although when we visited it wasn't running terribly full and fast. But it's still worth the easy walk into the gorge to view it. The guide says it's 3/4 of a mile in but it seemed a bit longer than that. Suitable for a stroller. The children that we saw seemed to really enjoy it. Very peaceful and beautiful!

It's a nice hike. Not too difficult and you can swim there by the falls in nice weather. It is a beautiful falls!

Taughannock Falls is a beautiful park. We came on a rainy (slightly snowy) November morning and first stopped at the lookout. If you have some time, it's definitely worth a stop since it gives you a view from the top of the gorge. We were determined to hike the Gorge Trail so we drove down to the parking lot and headed off. The trail is paved and very well maintained (clean, signs regularly posted reminding visitors to stay on the trail). We were unsurprisingly the only ones on the trail, although we saw one other person on our way out. As another reviewer noted, the trail becomes more and more serene and peaceful the farther you go. In summary, it's a very easy but enjoyable walk to the other end of the gauge near the base of the falls. It took us about an hour to walk there and back, including stopping quite a bit for photos!

Many beautiful views behold the visitor. Walk up the gorge and also look from the overlook. Nice swimming area and picnic areas. Good fishing from the north point.

Beautiful falls at the end of a pleasant half-mile walk through a lovely gorge. You can also see the falls from the top at an overlook.

Checking out the local falls is a trip worthy of praise, and as such, we did a few hikes once we turned off Route 89, 10 km north of Ithaca. The falls, 33 ft higher than Niagara, plunge 215 ft into a natural amphitheatre, created by thousands of years of erosion added to the effects of seasonal melting and freezing. Hiking took us along the trails to the south and north rims of the gorge and then to the foot of the falls. The Taughannock Creek empties into Cayuga Lake, where a delta formed by the stream provides a lovely picnic site with a boat launch and a swimming beach where we displayed our swimming style

Taughannock Falls are very close to Ithaca, about 8 miles north on state hwy 89. A viewing area is easily accessible from the parking lot near the top of the mountain, providing a spectacular view of the giant gorge and falls. For the more adventurous, there is a trail from Cayuga Lake that leads to the bottom of the falls. The falls are 266' high. No admission, well worth the time.
