Been here a few times for concerts. Great place for a meet and greet with the stars. Lots of parking and setting. Also, sells food and drinks when shows are going on.

they turned a terrific place for Suffolk residents{a free place for families} and turned it into a bad concert venue{worst acts possible}. we used to be able to ski and sleigh ride in the winter{no charge}. in the summer there were free movies and concerts that were family friendly. now you pay too much for beer sloshing, terrible musical acts, dont forget the bugs!!!

The town of Brookhaven uses this theater to hold their summer concert and shows. ALWAYS a great show lineup for the summer. Used to be a small ski area so seating is either on the grass slopping down so you can see the whole show or seating on the bottom. Sound is amazing because of the bowl setup. Enjoy it every year..

We drove from Northern NJ to see Parmalee/Dierks Bentley, about a 90 min drive. Arrived at 5 for a 7pm show. The lot was already full so we had to go about a mile down the road to park at Town Hall. The venue seats about 6500 people. There were only 2 buses running to take people from Town Hall to the Amphitheater. We had to wait for about 30 minutes on line for the bus, so we arrived at approximately 7:30 time. We missed Parmalee because we had to wait in an enormous line in the parking lot for an hour, then down a pitch-black winding path in the woods. We felt like we were in the Blair Witch Project. There were only four people taking tickets, and checking bags. I had an enormous raincoat on and no one checked me. I could have smuggled a baby in and no one would have known. Speaking of rain, if it rains, you are going to get wet. There is no roof. The line for the bathroom was at least an hour wait. The line for beer was a 40 minute wait for Coors Light and Corona. Seriously? Long Island has so many excellent craft beers. Very disappointing. There are food trucks but the food looked mediocre. They also had a moonshine truck, which was sold out - likely due to the beer lines being so long. We made it to our seats and while the usher was very nice, the seats are not marked, so he was very confused. As it turns out, people were in our seats and gave us attitude when they were told to move. The show was great, but I won't go back until Pennysaver gets a faccelift.

On a nice night it was a great venue - had seats but wouldn't have minded the lawn. Food options seemed limited. Parking was $10 each - didn't bring cash so had to go out to an ATM at last minute. Include parking cost in tickets please!

Great place for a concert. Lawn seats are great, but note that even the regular seats aren't covered. If it rains, everyone is getting wet. Came from out of state and stayed at comfort inn in Medford, only three miles from the venue. Easy in and out.

We visited the Brookhaven County Fair on May 30, and we had a very nice time. The ticket prices were fair for a fair, and the day we went was not crowded at all. We only waited on 1 or 2 lines for a few minutes. The only long wait was for the bungee trampolines which you have to get in the harness, so it takes a bit of time for that. The food was decent (off the grill grub). The rides are much better than the average local carnival. The have a mini roller coaster, very good bumper cars, some great spinners, and a big Ferris wheel and carousel. well setup midway, and very easy to do a few laps around the park to get everything you want done. They had a small circus set up, and even had monkey jockeys on dogs running races in the banana derby - very cute. I think parking was 5 bucks, not bad, and of course you can always park across from the entrance on Bicycle Path if you want to use the $5 on grub ;) wristband gets you on unlimited rides, or get tickets - better to get the wristband. couple of attractions were extra $. Definitely a fun day, and we would recommend this fair. Stuff for very little kids too, they had the signs to let you know if you were tall enough, and plenty to make even a 3-5 year old satisfied too. I attached a pic from the top of the Ferris Wheel.

We have made this a tradition to go here every July 4th to see the Gruchi fireworks and have never been let down. Heres a tip, go early. Even thought the fireworks don't start till 9pm we get there before 6 so we can get a good parking spot. We bring out the grill drinks and games to keep ourselves occupied before the big show. About 90% go inside and you can either get seats or bring a blanket and sit on the hill for a great view. There are food vendors and restrooms. We never leave the parking lot. We grill up a great meal, drink some beers and the fireworks show is AMAZING!!! Ten years and will be back again next year. The only bummer is the huge traffic jam you will be in trying to get out!

Okay, it's a little late to be reviewing this now but I have been slacking. I went here for my first time for Freedom Fest. The concert itself was great and I felt comfortable there even with all of the drunks around. Everyone tailgated in the parking lot beforehand and when you left the lot was a mess. The concert started at 1 and didn't end until about 1030. I left early because it was so hot. There is barely any shade or places to hide from the heat, and that is why I would suggest to not go to a daytime concert here during the peak of the summer. And if you do, be sure to move your over-the-shoulder bag around so you don't get a tan line of the strap. Overall, the amphitheater always holds events, I've only been to this one, but I am interested in going to more. Definitely a new hotspot for concerts in the area.

Vets Rock was held here and we had so much fun! Plenty of booths for shopping, music was excellent (great acts) and so many options for food.

We went to the Counting Crows show last night, and we won't ever go back to this venue. The website says it's a "stress free" experience; it definitely was NOT a stress free experience, by any means. Once we got into the parking lot and out of our car, we attempted to go to the entrance gate (one of TWO, which there are no signs and no rhyme or reason as to where you should enter), we were told they weren't letting anyone in yet. It was already 7pm; the gates were supposed to open at 6:30, with a show start-time of 7:30pm. Now, we sat in traffic all the way through Long Island to get to the venue, for 4 hours, so I understand that the bands hit that same traffic and the show had to be delayed a bit. But, what happened after that, had no justification whatsoever. We had to stand in a line that wrapped around the entire perimeter of the huge parking lot; it moved a few steps at a time. Everyone was visibly agitated and confused. Little did we know that there was ANOTHER line that was shorter, at the original entrance gate. Nobody was giving any truthful or useful information. Once we got to the entrance, they were giving out wristbands for 21+ patrons to drink; neither of us had our IDs checked, and the guys giving out the wristbands were fumbling and hardly prepared. We got through the first gate to stand in yet ANOTHER line for another 10 minutes to enter the venue. Here our tickets were checked, and we were finally able to get in. We headed straight for the bathroom, because, after a 4 hour trip and standing in 2 lines for 40 minutes, we needed to go! The bathrooms were pretty disgusting. They were lackluster; not that we expect a shiny bathroom for an outdoor venue, but the stench was pretty rank, and they were barely taken care of. Which, I find confusing considering this was the Pennysaver's FIRST show of the season; you'd think everything would be sparkling clean, organized and prepped and ready to go. After the bathroom experience, we decided to try to grab some food. We stood in a painfully slow moving line, AGAIN, for another 40 minutes, waiting for mediocre and overpriced food. People were ducking out of line because it was moving so slowly, and we missed the opener (The Wallflowers) because we HAD to eat, but there were only 2 places to get real food in the entire venue. Really? For a place that can hold up to 10,000 people, you have TWO places to get food? Not very sensible... THEN once we got our food, we had the horrific task of finding our seats. We had Orchestra seats in Row X; we tried to figure out the seating configuration on our own but, it didn't make sense and the seat numbers/row letters were VERY hard to find on our own. So we asked a SECURITY GUARD who told us "go down further, find row X, find your seats". Hmm...interesting. So, after a few helpful fellow patrons, we found our seats, ON OUR OWN. There are no useful ushers, nobody around to help you. Which isn't a good plan after you've already agitated 10,000 people by making them wait in 4 lines for over an hour and almost miss the opener and show. I'd like to say the show was GREAT, Counting Crows put on an awesome show and we loved every second. But, then we had to deal with exiting the venue. Which, we knew would be a project because nothing was organized the entire time we were at the Pennysaver, we were certain that leaving the parking lot would be no better. And we were correct. They had about 12 lanes of traffic all diverted to ONE single exit, and it was basically a jockeying free-for-all, which is pretty dangerous with 10,000 cars in one area. I couldn't wait to get out of there. WE WILL NOT GO BACK. And I've heard that the Pennysaver is deleting negative comments on Facebook. That's fine, go ahead and do that, although I don't recommend it. That further turns patrons off and away. I will be posting this exact review on Tripadvisor, Yelp and anywhere else that will let me post. Because, we decided to make a trip to a new venue to see a great band; and if people decide to do this same adventure in the future, we want them to know that they should NOT have this place be their destination. It was not worth it; not stress free; not organized; nothing like they say it is. Too bad, really. It had potential.
