Landis arboretum is tucked into the hillside just outside Esperance. This lovely setting contains a lovely perennial garden and numerous hiking trails that lead you through an old growth forest, native plant collections, the most complete collection of oak species in the country and mature specimens of many other trees and shrubs. Landis also offers many programs for the public, including terrific classes, music events, organized star viewing, nature walks and more. I plan my spring and fall around the two plant sales, and learned a lot from the pruning and propagation classes I took there. Landis is less than 30 minutes from Albany, only an hour from Oneonta. Don't miss the chance to support this great local treasure!

Awesome hiking trails for the family, and dog friendly. They have a lot to offer, winter hikes, snow shoeing, planting classes, nature walks, a 5K in August & plant sales (Spring & Fall). Best of all is the music with drop dead gorgeous views on Friday nights. Check their web site out.

Lovely gardens, old growth trees and miles of trails to hike. There's a busy calendar of events open to the public and summer concerts in the evening. Wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature.

It is a serene setting with panoramic country views. I would highly recommend donations to this facility. Walking through there is just good for the soul.
