Reasonably priced wine tasting of reds and whites surprised even those of us who prefer reds to whites. Even the cabernet sauvignon was great! Give it a try. Bottles are under $20, which is a steal for their savory boutique wines. And if you happen to get Victoire waiting on you, be sure to ask about her upcoming restaurant, L'Americain. I bet it'll be a hit, and I bet it'll carry some of these wonderful Ellicottville Winery wines!

Stumbled upon this winery while shopping in downtown Ellicottville, was in a rush so didn't have time for a formal tasting, but the girl behind the counter gave me a free sample of their Raspberry dessert wine - YUM! :) She also let me peak into their wine making room to snap a few photos. When we have time we'll go back for a tasting, she informed me that it was $5 to taste 6 different wines.

We stopped in 15 minutes before closing and we were treated as if it was the middle of the day. I was impressed with the variety of really good dry reds; not like the super sweet local wines that you usually find. We will be ordering online until we can get back out there.

I was very disappointed with the Winery of Ellicottville. I love to visit wineries in my travels and made sure to check this one out. It was a small storefront. The girl behind the "bar" seemed to be the only one there and not a very friendly one at that. I think this was the only winery I have ever been to that I didn't care for any of the wines at all! She had even given us a more expensive price for the wine glass than it actually was. I saw the wine glass on the store shelf and it was $2 cheaper and I questioned it - never admitting that she quoted a higher price. Very, very disappointed!

My sister and I had a girls night away. We decided this would be #1 on our list of things to do. It was so much fun! We did the chocolate pairing then went on to share a 6 wine tasting. We both purchased several bottles of wine. Fun, fun fun!

Have to go wine tasting here! Good wine, my favorite was EVL White! Excellent! Also has wine gifts and accessories.

We had a great experience at the Winery of Ellicottville! Definitely on the sweeter side, but they do offer some decent dryer varieties...obviously not for those die-hard dry red wine drinkers; but definitely worth the visit. Great people & atmosphere...a fun time! The wine tasting & chocolate pairing was good. Will stop next time were visiting EVL.

We happened across the winery on a trip into town so popped in for look and so glad we did. We sampled 6 wines and it only cost around 6$ an absolute bargain and really good wines too. Had a lovely chat with the owner who explained the wines to us and of course we didn't leave empty handed. Well worth popping in for a little snifter,

The employees at Ellicottville's little winery are kind, knowledgeable, and anxious to pour you some quality wines for a great price (6 samples for $3). I'm more of a sweet wine person and was absolutely blown away by their signature raspberry wine. The fox wine (I forget what it's called at the moment) was also interesting. How cool to see all of their wine-making equipment and machines in the back, too. I'm really glad my husband and I stopped here; even happier that the lovely people of Ellicottville have this little winery in their backyard. I know that we'll definitely return . . . in the meantime, I'm waiting for a special occasion to open my bottle of that raspberry wine! :)

While wondering the streets of Ellicottville we ran into the 'Winery of ELV'. We picked up two bottles for our trip further north and were not disappointed.

My fiance and I booked a "Wine & Chocolate Tasting". Being an online voucher we purchased I guess I was expecting more of a group thing then just showing up and tasting some wines but I guess that was my fault for assuming. Nonetheless, when we arrived we were greeted and tried a variety of delicious wines -- the host was very knowledgable and friendly. However, having the focus on "Wine & Chocolate" we were hoping for something a bit more than a chocolate dutch cookie out of the package, 1 chocolate square and 2 little chocolate covered pretzels. I wasn't looking to sit down and devour a pound of chocolate but thought that what was presented with a bit lacking. Still, the overall experience was nice and it was something different to do.

OK, being a California wine connosieur I must warn wine officianados that Western New York wine is NOT like any other. It's it's own monster...and the monster is SWEET. That said, it's the varietal region and it's what there is...so thusly forewarned about that...know that this place is great. Inexpensive and patient wine tasting provided, as well as knowledge of the local vineyards. Fun folks (whom I believe we've convinced to try Napa -- you know, for the education of it all!).
