We have bought many little things at this store and been very pleased. This last time, we decided to rent a rowboat and actually go out on the reservoir. BIG mistake! The young lady ( who is always very pleasant) told us that there was a rowboat available. We thought ----rowboat-----sounds good! $59 for the day and shaky directions....she had never seen the boat....had never Been to the area.....we were starting to get a little worried.....but after a little tête-à-tête , we said let's go for it! A wasp in the car on the way down......forgot the bait......was god giving us a sign? Most definitely! It took us an hour and a half to find the boat....it was on the opposite shore at least 1000 feet from all the other boats...PBT initials on it? Yeah in lower case and not very legible....and now let's talk size.....there were 2 of us....both in our 50's and me having had hernia surgery 2 weeks ago( we had mentioned that to the young lady). Boat was BIG! Boat was HEAVY! No way in hell the 2 of us could get it down (and then back up) the rocks. A nice guy helped us get it in the water and off we went, already worried about how we would get it out. We fished for a few hours...the pepacton is gorgeous....and we had no fear of moving around because the boat was so BIG. Did I mention that already? Back to shore...and now my hubby tries to pull the boat out....I worry that he will be in the hospital with a hernia....we ask same nice guy and his friends for help. Turns out one of them was the owner who now rents out the boat because he can no longer haul it in and out of the water himself....really?!? I think you should know your boats and what you are renting out...it would make sense to want a return clientele.....could have suggested a canoe....much more manageable for 2 50 somethings! And we would have been back to rent again!

This is where we get our kayaks steam-cleaned every spring for the reservoir. While we're there, we always end up buying things we forgot. Tom and Cheryl have a large selection of fishing, boating, and other goodies, and they are quite knowledgeable about the area and the rules and regs for boating on the Pepacton.
