Gives a succinct and informative history of the area. A great stop while taking a break from the slopes.

This small museum really gives you a sense of the history of Telluride, the mining town, the people and the hard life they had at the turn of the century.

We arrived into the town of Telluride via the gondola from Mountain Village. We asked for directions to the Museum from a gal located at a convenient booth at the base of the gondola.. She pointed directly up the hill which appeared to be a few short blocks. For 2 healthy senior citizens who have been somewhat compriomised for the duration of our visit thus far because of the 9-10,000 foot elevation of Telluride, that trek up the hill had us stopping for our breath a few times. However, once we arrived at the Museum, we were quite impressed. The receptionist was congenial and helpful in advising us of the best way to tour all the informative areas of the Museum. The lifestyle in which those who lived in the area in the past and worked in the mines certainly left an impression on us that will last forever. And to think that we were walking the rooms of the hospital building in which they were probably born, died and/or were cared for whether sick or injured in the years gone by!!!

I have visited lots of local history museums and have been on the Board of several Friends groups. The Telluride Museum does a good job of summing up what makes this town a place people sit and and take notice of. The Natives, THE bank robbery, the mining, and now the skiing. Each theme has are in the historic building, and for each theme, the people involved play out significantly.

On a day off from skiing we dropped into this little museum. It does a good job of telling the story of Telluride. So if you go skiing to this resort and want to find out about the place you are in ---Go!

I really liked learning about Telluride, lots of things I had no idea had started here. All of the locals rave about the museum and with good reason, it is a nice museum full of local color.

spent two hours in this tiny little museum. So full and rich of interesting things. I am not one to seek out museums but this one I would do again. You will learn about the miners, bordellos, hospital, Tesla, so so much more.

Our children loved mining for minerals and gems. They do a very nice job of bringing history of Telluride to visitors. Recommend for families and history buffs.

It's only $5 and definitely worth the trip. I loved learning about the history and progress of Telluride over the years. The location is convenient - right in town.

We have read about the Telluride Blanket for some time. Decided to take a ride and see it and enjoy Telluride before the ski madness begins. The Blanke was amazing. Cannot believe it is dated at over 800 years old. it was almost in perfect condition. and to see it in this small museum... what can I say. Should be in the Field Museum in Chicago. The young woman at the desk didn't seem to know much about it's history other than a lot of people come to see it. We toured the rest of the museum which is dedicated to Tellurides mining history. Enjoyed it. $5.00 pp and residents get in free. Glad we went.

This was a good museum for a relatively small town. We enjoyed learning about the history of Telluride. However, a lot of the history we learned on a ride up Imogene Pass which was more fun for us as we are more outdoor people. If you can do both, which we had time for, it is definitely worth a visit to the museum.

We thoroughly enjoyed all the attention to detail and displays at the museum. Very informational and educational. The museum did a great job of displaying everything that is/was Telluride.

Compact, interesting, good mining information, and right near the downtown area. Hours vary based on season.
