Yea, okay - maybe that's to be expected...but how cool is that? He was eating peanuts that people dropped when feeding the chipmunks. So, my kids named him Peanut. Great family memories!

A very small Swiss-made tramway to the top of Prospect Mountain and in summer, there can be lines - but they move along 8-12 at a time. Well worth the trip for the views of the Estes Valley. Hiking to the very top of the mountain is available - and there is a snack bar that serves very good pie and pastries (as well as other carny foods).

Had to check this out just to see the hotel from the shining. It was very big, well maintained and the scenery was breathtaking. I did not want to leave! Colorado is the best place to visit hands down

If you've spent any time IN RMNP this could be a bit of a letdown, but for non-hikers or people in your group that just want to say they have been to the top of the mountain without a whole lot of effort, it's a fun little diversion.

We went on an unplanned excursion to Estes Park for the day and we were disappointed to discover the attraction was closed for the season. We are not from Colorado, we were just in the state for a family event. The prices are their website are fair, I think. I bet the views are spectacular from the top. The weather was beautiful when we were then at the end of October, it was not even cold. I love Estes Park though and to have been able to take the tram ride would have been icing on a great day.

You get what you pay for. Its somewhat bottlenecked on quantities of the people that can go out. Their operations ran well and it was a great cost effective way to see the town!

This is an easy way to get some folks who may struggle with the climbs in the parks. The view is nice, the area is fairly easy to walk and there is a little snack bar to enjoy a coffee while viewing.

Plan to spend a little time here or a lot if you want to relax. You can grab a coffee and sit inside or out. The even have some board games to play, and don't miss the walk outside to feed the squirrels and chipmunks! They sell peanuts for them. It is windy and chilly even in August so take a jacket or sweater for the observation area.

I was able to take a few beautiful pictures at the top the mountain, I'm really glad we rode the tram up and hung out at the top.

Not sure how you can rate this any lower than 5. This was awesome and awesome ride with great views. The staff were very friendly. The only thing is I don't think someone in a wheel chair could get on this, but I could be wrong.

I did this alone because my boyfriend decided to sleep in one day, but very I didn't mind. Very breath taking views. I hiked to the summit of the mountain it was very refreshing. I met a few nice travelers along the way to the top. Fed chipmunks right out of my hand. Claimed rocks, saw different species of birds. I would diffidently recommend doing this.

We decided on the tram to see more of the area and mountains. My sister-in-law had never had the opportunity to see mountains before so we decided to start with this. It had wonderful views and we were able to sit and enjoy the sun. Would recommend if you are looking for something enjoyable and simple to do.

Scarred the crap out of me on the way up but was great on the way down. Fairly fast ride up the hill though. Make sure you bring something to feed the chipmunks when you get to the top. You can take as long as you want to walk around and check out the views.

This was a great activity for our friends and family before our wedding. It was very close to downtown but gave you the feel of exploring in the National Parks. The tram ride is nice and slow and suitable for children of all ages. We all got great pics and there were chipmunks everywhere. A definite must do in Estes.
