Small and interesting museum offering immense collection of art deco - furniture, ceramics, glass, paintings, and you name it - it's probably there. Interesting displays, like walking thru a home. A bit overloaded, and not everything is on display. Nice gift shop. Staff very friendly and welcomes questions. Change of pace from 'regular' museums.

This museum has a great history, and an incredible collection. We had this on a list of "places to see" with out of town Christmas visitors and while we had it as our #4 or #5 historical option, we liked it best. I understand they are moving to a larger space which will be great. Vance's collection is very broad and interesting and you can see where he suspended himself to paint; and the collections are incredible - you will find many surprises here, enjoy!

A small museum with a wonderful well curated collection of art nouveau, art deco and other interesting objects highlighting the art work of Kirkland himself. We couldn't get into the cartier exhibit at the Denver Art Museum and were much happier to enjoy this treasure.

Great little museum that makes everyone feel like they are on a private tour. Very knowledgeable staff. If you like contemporary/art deco art, this is a must see in Denver. Many other reviews already cover the layout, which is very well done.

My wife and I had some time to kill before heading to the Denver Airport so we ventured here. We really enjoyed it! We both love Contemporary Art, but in particular...contemporary furniture and furnishings. The place was small. I think we covered everything in 30-60 minutes. Very Relaxing!

Gorgeous salon style museum. Great variety of Colorado artists. Iconic Vance Kirkland collection and studio space.

I've been here twice and love to look at the collections of furniture and decorative art. One can wander past each "room setting" as if walking through someone's home. This museum does not allow children under 13.

If you're into art deco, this is your place! Even if you're not, it's kind of neat to be able to sit down on one of Frank Lloyd Wright's chairs.

I love material culture, and let me tell you, the Kirkland is full of it. I often dislike traditional museums and the rarefied culture they preserve, and I was blown away by Kirkland and the quirkiness of the man it honors (as well as his paintings). Give yourself a few hours to come here and gawk at your surroundings.

This museum is truly inspired. If you are a mid century lover, you will leave feeling exhilarated. This museum gave us a great feel to the Denver area and left us feeling enculturation by local artists.

If you enjoy Art Nouveau this place is for you. It is not your typical museum, the art is displayed "salon style" which makes it even more appealing and interesting to see. There is so much stuff packed in here, you could spend all day. The old studio and attached building allow you to wind through rooms finding new treasures around every corner. We were almost sad to hear that they are getting a massive new facility to house this wonderful collection because we thought the current building really added to the charm - but we have faith that they will only enhance things even more when they have the new space! If you are going to see just one art museum in Denver, we highly recommend this one.

This museum has some lovely things but they are so crammed together and placed with no apparent rhyme or reason it really detracts. The tour wasn't informative about the items, it was mostly about Mr. Kirkland. As well as decorative arts, there are paintings from Colorado artists of varying talent. It's just such a hodgepodge. In a couple of years they will have a new and larger facility. I hope they also get a professional curator because there is much potential.

I love history, architecture, design, art (you get the picture). This museum located close to the Molly Brown House satisfies all my loves, and more! Named after an artist based out of Denver, CO (Vance Kirkland), this museum houses some of the best examples of Decorative Art I have seen assembled in one physical place. (Kirkland is fascinating and you should read about his techniques if you get the chance before you go). It is curated well with good lighting and plenty of room to examine. The Kirkland Museum maintains a good website which gives detail info. The furniture is also a delight to see, with many examples of art deco, mid-century modern, 60 and 70's Mod Style, etc... Everyone will see something from their childhood somewhere in there; I saw a telephone with a dial that my grandmother had. Many of the things you will see have been copied and reproduced over the years, so it was wonderful to see the 'real deal' at Kirkland's.There are free tours at 130 pm but I was there earlier so didn't wait to go and did the walk through on my own. There is a great coffee place just a short walk around the block called Pablo's Coffee. Fresh and the Barista made the most fantastic cup of cappuccino I have had in a very long time! Recommended place for lunch across the street (Jellys) by docent at Kirkland's but didn't partake.Parking was easy and free and located across the street from the Museum.People were all very, very pleasant and answered all questions.

The Krkland is unique in that it combines all the practical and fine arts under one roof. The building is special and the varied collection including many paintings of Vance Kirkland are not be missed. One of the more unique museums in the Country.

As an artist, I appreciate the variety and quality of the everyday art exhibited. Think Rosewood pottery vrs Monet.
