It may look unimpressive from the highway, but inside there's a fascinating collection of local historic vehicles and a bunch of player pianos. I particularly enjoyed the tractors and other farm equipment. The weekend we visited we were the only visitors, so we had the docents all to ourselves. They were knowledgeable and willing to answer all our technical questions and hop in to demonstrate.Admission is dirt cheap and good for a year if you sign in the guestbook.

An extensive collection of well preserved antique cars, farm equipment, musical instruments, ladies clothing and accessories awaits your visit within this nondescript metal building located on US Hwy 287 just south of the city of Longmont CO. The volunteer museum docents are friendly and enthusiastic about sharing their insights on the history contained within this museum. Visiting times are limited to the weekends during the months of June, July and August. Current times are 11 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Well worth the time to visit this wonderful selection of Americana!!

We went to the Dougherty on a whim. What a great collection of very interesting stuff! The collection is the result of a life long lobby of collecting by Ray G Dougherty that started in 1927 and ended on his passing in 1988. If you like old cars, trucks, pianos, victrolas, tractors, threshing machines, guns, fire engines, pipe and reed organs and a whole bunch of other interesting old stuff, this is the place for you. The museum is open June - August, Fiday Saturday and Sunday 11a.m. to 5p.m. Admission is $5.00 per person.
