We were disappointed and annoyed when the first company we went to for a 10 am tour had lost our reservation and wasn't able to accomodate us. But every cloud has a silver lining, and in this case, the silver lining was finding White Mountain tours! They were able to book us on a Performance Tour, up to over 12,500 feet, through the Fremont Pass and the Continental Divide. It was too late to catch the complmentary shuttle from Breckenridge, but they quickly emailed us precise directions, and we found it easily. We had brought ski bibbers to wear, but discovered that we needn't have bothered -- they have racks and racks of snowsuts of all sizes, as well as snowboots. They were careful about fitting our helmets, and after a quick, concise orientation as to how to use the snowmobile and some safety rules, we had about 15 minutes to practice on a flat track. After everyone was confident, we split up into smaller groups, and went off into different directions -- our guides were Jeff and Mario, who guided us through lovely wooded trails and breathtaking above-the-timberline stretches where we could admire Mount Elbert and other Rockies peaks and stretches of pristine snow. The Performance tour has a little more climbing than some of the other tours, and doesn't allow passengers like some of the other tours they offer. We had a great tme -- some fun climbs, breathtaking scenery, and even some fun descents. They also had a professional photographer that got some fun pictures that made us look like seasoned snowmobilers! They are definitely on our "highly recommended!" list!

We recently had a group of 11 in Breckenridge. The group consisted of ages 5 thru 65, so it was a diverse age group. After calling and speaking with someone at Summit Concierge, they recommended the Prospector tour for us. It was perfect! I was surprised at how many opportunities we had to "give it some gas" and really pick up some speed. There is the practice area at the beginning where you have a few minutes to play around before hitting the trails. The two kids in our group absolutely loved the mini snowmobiles that they got to drive.Once on the trails, the guide let us get up and go often, especially on the long straight runs. Then you go to an open field and get to play around for a while. All in all, it was a great experience, and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to snowmobile. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Our guide was great; made sure everyone was comfortable and safe and also had a lot of fun.

My fiancé and I decided to take a go at snowmobiling while we were staying in Copper. White Mountain picked us up with their van and it was about a 15 minute ride to their place. We got checked in and they direct you to grab some boots, helmets, goggles, snow suits, all of which they provide!!! Awesome! They even had guys checking to make sure you had the right size helmet, super helpful. After we were all suited up, we headed outside and got to know our snowmobiles. It was a quick 10 minute instructional on how to use your snowmobile. After that we headed out to the practice field where we practiced for about 15 mins. My group which was the performance tour had 4 people in it and we had Allan as our guide. He was awesome, fun, and patient. Since it had snowed all weekend, we had gotten stuck a couple times. Allan dug us out and gave us high fives. The tour was an amazing experience!! Make sure you wear your warmest gloves! We rode for about 1.5 hours up to the top, I think he said over 12,000 feet, then we headed back down. We parked our snowmobiles when we were finished and headed back inside to check out. Our van driver was waiting for us and drove us back to copper. We can't wait to come back!

Our day started out a bit slow with over 50 snowmobilers getting the safety talk and taking slow laps on the practice track which had me concerned. However, once they broke the people out into smaller groups, it was myself, my two sons and one other guy with our Performance tour. Sean was our tour guide and was wonderful. The machines are newer Polaris brand and had hand warmers which was nice. Despite it being snowy, the scenery was still spectacular. I can imagine how nice a sunny day would be. The check in process was pretty easy and I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an alternative to skiing for a day. The Performance tour was perfect for myself and my two teenage sons. It is not overly challenging and was the perfect balance for us.

We did the most basic level snow mobiling package since we were all new, we had so much fun! Our guide Alex (the brunette Alex) was very kind and helpful, he was a pleasure to have as a guide. The only downside for me was that the people at the photo booth were a bit rude to us. They made a snide comment that our party should hurry up and decide whether we wanted photos so that they could leave. We were by no means the last tour of the day so I have no idea why they were so rude. Needless to say we did not purchase photos after that comment. The experience itself was great and so was Alex, so I would recommend them to others, just skip the photo booth.

I have never been snowmobiling. We did a mom and daughter outing with friends. The snowmobiles were easy to use. The scenery was phenomenal and it was a great time. Anyone can ride these. Our guide was awesome and made sure everyone level had a great time.

We had such a great time. I was a little nervous at first but the crew were so kind and caring. They were able to keep me calm and I gave it a go. Their main priority is safety and it really shows. They also enjoy what they are doing and want others to enjoy snowmobiling too! Thanks to Karwyin for such an awesome time!

We did our snowmobile tour here on Jan 28th, with our family. Our guide "Blueberry" was awesome. He was informative, instructive, funny and friendly. The ride is fun and the views are amazing. Not only will we be back, but I would certainly recommend this snowmobile tour to anyone! - Whiteis/Fugatt

We have been snowmobiling before in Breckenridge but this was just better. The trails we went on were beautiful. The scenery amazing. (The drive up 91 was also worthwhile). I was happy that they took photographs on the trail and to get them all on a thumb drive was a nice touch. We went on the "Prospectors" ride which is considered a beginners ride which suited us well but next time will move up to "Performance". Our guide was really pleasant and took great care of us. I'm a fan.

White Mountain Tours does a great job of providing a safe and fun look at some remote and beautiful places. On a mild day in January we took a tour around Turquoise Lake and rode up trails and into the woods for some spectacular mountain scenery. We were patiently taught how to use the equipment and thanks to our guide soon felt comfortable and secure enough to maneuver through even some tight spots. It was a beautiful day and a fun and exciting afternoon on the mountain. I would highly recommend White Mountain tours!

There's no cellphone service in the area, so you'll have to get directions manually, that's the only downside to this placeCheckin was great, signed waivers, Got snowsuits, helmets, even goggles, and we were off to the safety course. The guide goes on and teaches you the basics, how to turn on, kill switch etcthen we all hop on get driving in circles, another lesson, group breaks up for a bit, more practice then the groups rejoin, Then you have the time of your life, sick views, great trails, awesome guides,This was my first time on a snowmobile ever, I was terrified and nervous in the beginning, the guide scares you that people crash and get hurt because they didn't follow the rules, but then again the rules are simple, logic and not hard at all to followAll in all 5 stars

We chose the prospect tour, which is about 2 hours, they came pick us up in time and took us to the base camp where you could get extra gear and helmets. Mario our guide was super fun and always watching that everyone was ok. We went through some overlooks where we stopped to take pictures and then through trees. We really enjoyed it!

Me and my son, who had never been snowmobiling decided in a whim to try it. We booked the performance tour. They picked us up. Once in base camp they made sure everyone was well dressed. The equipment and safety and basic riding overview was very thorough. The training runs allowed everyone to be sure they were comfortable with the ride. A few riders elected to hop on back of a guides sled after the training course. We went through trees and above the tree line. I can't say enough about the scenery.Out tour guide, "Melrose" was exceptional. He balanced making sure we were OK with allowing us to freelance a bit.

We are a family of six adults and booked the performance tour even though we had only been on snowmobiles once in the past. The midday tour provided a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. I believe the morning tour would have been a better choice however, because by midday the trails are somewhat like "wash boards" and a bit more difficult to maneuver smoothly. The guide went at the group's pace and was very pleasant while providing lots of information about the area.All-in-all, we would do it again. The day was beautiful--blue skies, fresh snow, and no wind.

We had a group of 17 with 15 drivers (ages 16-50) with 2 passengers (ages 14 & 15). We arrived at 11:30 for a noon tour. Waited about 45 minutes until they could pack the school bus to take us to the sleds. ALL drivers had been on snowmobiles before & ALL had experience with them...even the 16 year olds. The guides were informative on the 15 minute ride out, but made lots of jokes about drinking and drugs. I'm not prude at all, but the repeated theme was annoying. Upon arrival at "camp" we were given snowmobiles and given instructions. Then we were all (everyone on the bus) taken to a very large field and allowed to drive in a big circle to get used to them. It was boring since we all knew how to ride. This was really an opportunity for them to take photos to try to sell you at the end. They did finally (after nearly another 40 minutes) take the 17 of us as a group without the others. Before we went out, they told us to stay single file & if we get off course, no problem...try to get back on, but if we are more than 5-10' off JUST STOP and wait for help, if there's any trouble, we get too far behind, etc., just wait. Well, about 5 minutes into the tour my husband's snowmobile broke down. The guides soon realized he was gone & one went to get him. Everyone else waited and about 5-8 minutes later my husband was coming on the back of the guide's sled. They left his abandoned. We went back to "camp" to get a new snowmobile. When we got going again, one of the teenage boys went literally 3' off course and got into deep snow. We were going about 20mph. Everyone stopped as we were told. The front guide got off his snowmobile and started to scream, point to, and MF the kid. He went NUTS and said the F word multiple times pointing his finger at the kid. We have it all on the kids GoPro video.....which I may consider posting on YouTube. If anyone from White Mountain is reading this, we'd be happy to provide the video. I'm sure the guide would lose his job....which we don't want, but I don't think anyone should be treated this way. The kid wasn't doing anything crazy, wasn't trying to pass up, just got a few feet off course....as I said, we have a video. Anyway, then we went on for about 20 minutes, stopped somewhere for a photo opportunity - which was fine - but we were there too long & then headed back. We also never went faster than 30mph, so if you are looking to really drive a sled, this is NOT the tour for you. Overall, It was not much time on the snowmobiles with all the issues. I would NOT recommend them and will never use this company again.
