Did this last week while in CO visiting old college friends and my son.. What fun -- Border Collie Sheepdog Trails, National Championship.. and more Took the train from Union Station Denver and went to Carbondale to visit friends.. The zypher AMTRACK was a great ride but delayed because of weather so we got in late and had dinner at the Steak House across the street from the station in Glenwood Springs. Great food. But the best restaurant was the one in Denver -Root Down -- organic, fresh, and different. Next weekend you have another sheepdog trails in Carbondale ... check it out..

The Mountain Fair is just downright cool and home-town funky at the same time. Don't expect high tech. Sopris Park is small so there is only so much they can do. Just a great home town feel with excellent music and plenty of eclectic shopping booths. Plenty of local food options too.

The Mountain Fair attracts thousands of people to C'dale every July (the last week-end). There is continuous music, delicious food and lots of fun crafts booths to browse through. The crafts run the gamut and are of high quality.

Mountain Fair is the last full weekend in July each year. The Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities hosts the fair, which is a community effort. More than 120 arts and crafts booths, 20+ food booths, beer garden, and an incredible variety of local and national musical acts. Free admission to a great party. It fills me with joy and hope each year.
