It is an interesting course. Lots of hills and greens in a bowl. Had a snake join me at the 4th green.

My playing partner and I had markedly different views of this course which we played 8/3/14. I found it to be an original, interesting and challenging track. My playing partner found it gimmicky and more like a giant putt-putt course. So here is the good and bad. First, you'll approach the course through a dusty parking lot. The trailer pro shop is off-putting, no question about it, and the carts are like castaways from other courses. When we had to return the first cart after the first hole (longer and longer hesitation just to start up each time), the kid said "oh yeah, we've been having problems with that one." We didn't bother to ask the obvious question. Homes nearby the trailer - the only homes you'll see for the entire course - look like the beginnings of a failed development. The driving range has a natural grass tee area, but the landing area is desert. So infrastructure is not their strong point. But you're not here for that, or are you? Playing conditions. Despite the impressions above, you'll find the course very well maintained. It has a minimalist design, with no sand bunkers, and no landscaping beyond the fairways, but the fairways are lush, greens run true, and both are very well maintained. The layout. This is where my buddy and I diverged. I loved the approaches over natural rock walls, around the back of dunes, and the hugely tiered and rolly greens. We had to drive up to the greens several times before hitting approach shots to figure where to hit, but found the aiming poles to be mostly accurate. One hole with a blind approach has an aiming pole but also an arrow 20 yards away which can lead you astray. There are several sky-high elevated tee boxes with big vistas. You'll think either "this is really fun and different" or "this is a joke," So it really comes down to whether you're a traditionalist or an adventurist golfer.

whoever built the homes inside the golf course must have been a construction wizard, as they are just as nice to look at as the golf course!

This is a beautiful and challenging golf course, particularly for the price they charge. It's is no doubt the best course in the area. Don't let the clubhouse give you a premature attitude toward the course. The apparently put most of their money in maintenance as it is maintained well. Don't let the "watch out for Rattlesnakes" sign scare you. I have played the course several times and have never seen a snake of any kind.

Great golf course. Very nice course with beautiful picture perfect surroundings of snow covered mountains. Price was excellent and it was easy to reserve a tee time. Love to play it again. Brush up on your short game.

This is a weird golf course. No sand traps (the rocky desert outside the fairways is hazard enough!). No flat greens. Many greens are bowls that feed the ball toward the hole from any direction. They all are very tricky and difficult to putt. Many spots on these greens make it impossible to get your putt near the hole. But I think the times the green shapes help you easily balance the times they hurt you. And it IS fun--different from almost any course you've ever played. So we like going back even if, by strict definition, it's not a "normal" golf course. But there's an important reason I'm writing this review. There are three holes on the course where you must (two holes) or might (one hole) shoot over a rocky, desert "wall" to get at the green. And you can't see where your shot is going. The problem is there's no effective way to tell if the green is clear of golfers unless you drive your cart around the wall and actually take a look. So, at best, that delays play. Most golfers do it, however, because you HAVE TO!! But some, as you can imagine, don't. One of our party was just starting to walk off a green when a shot came whizzing right by his head. Had it hit him it could have knocked him out at best or killed him at worst. We drove back and kind of yelled at the golfer who hit the stupid shot and we got an apology. Maybe you could operate a golf course like this for many years without someone getting seriously injured or killed. But sooner or later...

This is a typical Jim Engh designed course, looks of uneven lies, blind shots, funky greens. The weather was not that great, cl=old and windy. But the people were nice and we pretty much had the course to ourselves so we had a good day!!

This course is wonderful, and absolutely beautiful as a high-desert course. With more time, we would have tried to fit in another 18 on the same day.The course is in great shape, and the starter is a hoot.It would be great if they could add a clubhouse, but worth the trip even without a clubhouse. It is a great deal with coupons from the VIP golf pass book.

The course requires accuracy and is a great way to start off the golf season. Not like your typical public course. You don't want to be on the wrong tier of the green-will cost you a stroke or two. They need to improve the club house facility.

It is a Lovely course. Every hole is a challenge. Not one green is flat. Some holes you can't see the green on the Approach. The down side is ther is no Club House, The carts people are few and far between. But for the pure thrill of a great course. You will have to drive far to beat it...

If you are looking for a different golfing experience this might be the place. You will not know the layout of each hole and expect to go looking for your golf ball. Some holes have blind greens or even the fairways might be unexpected shots over the ridge only to find a hazard in the fairway. Again, it can be pleasant if you are not looking for a good score! It is interesting!
