Had a great time white water rafting with Three Rivers. Our trip guide "Vito" was aweome. He have rafted at Three Rivers many times and will continue to do so everytime we are in Gunnison or Crested Butte

We booked a float trip with Three Rivers Ranch for Aug. 5, 2014. Had a great time in spite of the rain. Our guide Mike made the trip much more enjoyable. We caught nice rainbows and cutts while it was raining. Mike was extremely helpful and offered a ton of advice ( he was always proved right, too ).We will book next year but must insist on Mike being the guide. He was that good.Mark & Wayne - Austin

Went on the upper Taylor . I have been on raft trips in Durango, Colorado and near Taos, New Mexico but I think this was the most beautiful of all 3. This particular company gives much more safety instruction than other companies do. Very enjoyable trip.

July 2014 - We visited in late July and did the Upper Taylor Extender (~7.5 miles, class I-III rapids). At this time of year, the water flow was still good and the rapids were still plenty of fun! I felt like we got our money's worth out of the Extender option. After the first 5 miles (where the Upper Taylor groups pulled out) I was still having fun and not ready to quit yet. The last 2.5 miles (unique to the Extender) have some good rapids, a little more maneuvering than the first part, and some more beautiful scenery! This was my wife's first time doing whitewater and she had a blast! This was my 4th whitewater trip and the Taylor River was just as fun and exciting as any other trip I've been on. We would definitely return!Three Rivers Resort is located right on the river. They provide a short bus ride from the lodge to the starting point and a shorter :) bus ride from the pull out back to the lodge.

We have been white water rafting here a couple of times in years past. My teenage sons wanted a little more challenge so we tried out white water kayaking. You actually use individual raft type of kayaks called duckies. We had a lot of fun we were on the lower Taylor River class 2, next time will have to move up to a class 3 rapid.

We went on the Lower Taylor float today with August (who was a great guide!!). This is a very professional operation. There's a restaurant there and we had time for a quick breakfast before our float. They have us jackets for the kids and the launch went off without a hitch. Everyone was so friendly and professional. The trip was perfect for our 5 & 7 year old - there were some rapids that they really loved. We took a ton of pictures it was so pretty. We ended up buying the picture CD for $55, because we were in the front of the boat and they took some incredible pics. Tons of fun.

We had a party of 6 ride the river today, well... we attempted to ride the river anyway. About 2/3 of the way through the difficult section our entire boat took a swim. Through a freak whatever we all went out. While I wasn't real sure where everyone went, I can tell you I went a long long long way somewhat swimming if you call it that. I finally was heaved into another boat. After my river beating I didn't even have the energy to breathe. We then went to the side where I was properly taken care of by everyone working with the resort. After the excitement there wasn't one ounce of energy left to continue so they took us back to the resort.Through all of the craziness of the day everyone at the resort was great, it is just one of those things that happen. I will definitely be repeating this adventure, hopefully from inside the boat. The guide, Josh, was absolutely amazing. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you are going to be in the area you must visit and be sure to give Josh a hard time.

We have been here several times but this is the first time I felt the want or need to write a review. Although, unfortunately, our boat met with a random rock and flipped, Josh and the rest of the crew were SOOO quick to get us out of the water and to safety! This is the very first time we have been in the water (5th trip). Everyone was so very nice and took care of all of us! Josh, you are the best! We will be asking for you personally next time we go! And we WILL be going again! Thank you to all the staff for helping us and making sure we were ok. If you want to go on a fun river trip, this is the place to go. Everyone was so professional AND nice! Thank you again! We will see you all next year!!!! The LaFave crew...(July 23rd, morning Upper Taylor trip)

Ask for Ruth if you go white water rafting. She is fun and made it more fun for our group. No children were in our raft so she made it a bit more adventurous for us.

I fully understand that holidays like the 4th of July are super busy and everyone is rushing around trying to cram every activity they can into each day... and by and large, TRR goes a good job of keeping groups moving in and out of the river - it's just that sometimes they do too good of a job and like most overworked staff members during the holiday season, they simply go through the motions - safely for sure - but you still walk away going "I'm not not doing that again, especially for what it costs"... our experience was supposed to be a half day kayak (duckies) tour of the upper section of the Taylor River (Note: we did the lower section last year and it was an overall good experience for first timers and lasted well over two hours on the river, though the flow wasn't great - but thats not their fault).. this year the flow seemed excellent due to the great snow year and the guides were excellent, at least at their 'routine' - the problem is a 'half day' on the Taylor turned into basically 40 mins of actual kayaking - great fun while it lasted but it seemed like we got the shortened tour and most of the time was spent waiting on the rafting groups to move through a section - one of the guides mentioned in an off hand manner that sometimes when it is not so busy they start much higher up on the river... not so this time.

We stayed in Almont for 2 days and wanted to get in a family friendly rafting trip. Our kids our 6 and 7 years old and the Three Rivers Resort recommended the Lower Taylor float trip which was about 2 hours long. It was perfect and such beautiful scenery. Our kids cannot stop talking about it. We did get a little wet and the kids loved each time we got splashed. It was a perfect introduction into rafting. Our guide, Patrick was great. We would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who has kids and does not mind sitting back and letting the guide to the rowing.

A large group of us went rafting while in Colorado for my friends wedding. There were 60 to be exact. The resort was very efficient and accommodating with our large group! The guides were very experience and fun! If you want to raft in this area, choose Three Rivers! It was also very affordable!

Our family stayed in one of the cabins directly on the Taylor River. Excellent accomodations as well as the entire staff being most pleasant, all were very helpful from the bar to front of the house. (I found the room key guys, will be mailing it back) ... Thanks again ... "we'll be back" !!

We (3 couples) rented 3 cabins in a row. When we checked in all I wanted to know was where our cabins were and one of the staff, or maybe the owner, was very snippy in trying to tell me. The cabins were not all that clean. There was dirt on the footon that we had to brush off. The sheets on the bed could use some bleach to get the gray color out. Every time I sat on the toilet I killed a big ant or 2 crawling on the floor. There were a few bugs in the bedroom I had to kill also. Thankfully, no bugs in the bed. The oven did not work. I would never stay here again. There are far better places to stay. Gunnison is only 20 minutes down the road and has better accomadations. If you must stay in a cabin on the river, go across the street to Almont Resort.

We went white-water rafting with these guys through Harmel's Ranch Resort. I was nervous as I'm unsure around water, but our guide was brilliant, going through all the safety checks and making it a very fun, exciting event.
