Excellent place to obtain information for your Park visit. They have a vast knowledge of the things you need. Hiking trails for youth and adults. All kinds of gift items and directions all over park.

Great place to stop and get info to plan your time and activities in the park. I have watched the (free) movie every time I go - and we have been visiting for many years. The rangers are friendly and knowledgeable.

Its a great place to start a hike from and has tons of information about the area. Unlike the visitor centers along the skyline drive though it didn't have a gift shop which was a shame. It is also the last place before the drive from here to Cherokee for a comfort break.

We enjoyed the short hike to the waterfall and to the old cabin. We also learned quite a bit about animals and vegetation in the park thru the displays in the visitors center.

The Sugarlands visitor center is a greats stop on the way into the park from the Gatlinburg side that everyone needs to experience. The museum there, the friendly staff, store and facilities available to everyone are second to none. Whether you want park information, a nice gentle hike with a small waterfall, a moment of rest or to purchase something special, Sugarlands Visitor center has it all.

This is the perfect spot to get all your information and a great spot to become acclimated to the area. The staff are warm and friendly and the Center has lots of brochures, maps and information about the National Park and surrounding area. The Rangers are really knowledgable and helpful. There is a very nice gift shop with a little something for everyone, restrooms are clean and well maintained and they have a display area that is both interesting and educational. This is a great place to stop for updated information... I might also add that if you are traveling during late Fall and Winter it is necessary as they have the road closings and suggested alternative routes.....

In my opinion, this is THE visitor center for the Great Smoky Mountain National Park! If you need any park related information, this is the place to go. They have a gift shop inside as well as a nice little "museum" in the back. Don't forget to stop by here before going into the park!

We love Sugarlands Visitor Center. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the educational displays are great. We signed up to be members of the GSMA this trip and are proud to be supporting the park we both love!

I love the Sugarlands visitors center. Every time I am in Gatlinburg, I try to stop by. My sister renewed her membership with the park and I think I will start a membership too! They have a wide assortment of books, hiking information / clothing, local crafts etc... I love this place and the rangers / employees are always so accommodating! 5 STARS for me. If you are an avid hiker, get the book / pamphlet that lets you log all you miles! It is a great way to keep up with your hikes and miles traveled. There is also a passport that you can buy and have stamped showing all of the National Parks in the US and surrounding areas in them that you have seen. That is really cool too!

A must first stop on your way into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Very scenic setting and the park rangers are very helpful and informative. Wonderful exhibits at the center showing the park wild life. Watch the video about the park. Worth the 20 minutes.

The Sugarlands Visitor Center is beautiful and very informative! We watched the film about the Smoky Mountains National Park, visited the gift shop, and checked out the huge land map of the park. What we enjoyed the most was the tour by one of the Park's volunteers. She was great and lead us on the trail to the Cataract Falls, a short distance behind the visitors center. She was very knowledgeable about the many trees and plants along the way and other wonderful facts about the park and the grave yard that we saw at the end of the tour. The falls are pretty but not one of the more powerful falls in the area.

This center offers a nice, 20 minute film that gives an introduction to the park. The park rangers are available to answer any questions and suggest things to see based on your needs. I do recommend that your purchase the trail map for $1. It will show you trails and their distances so you can plan accordingly. Besides having restrooms and vending machines, there is a short (0.8 mile) trail behind the building to see a small waterfall.
