I have rafted with many different rafting companies all over the country on many rivers. The Nantahala Outdoor Center has the best river guides you will find anywhere. Their facilities in NC, and TN are both great. I would suggest that if you have young children, start out with the Nantahala River, which is only a class 2-3. That was my first rafting experience and I loved it so much, that I have progressed to the class 5 rivers now. I admit, I am an adrenalin junkie, and there is nothing that gives a bigger thrill than ww rafting! Try it, you will love it. Check out their Website at http://noc.com/ you can choose the best river for your experience level on their Website.

Our group ages 12 to 62 enjoyed a couple hours rafting the rapids on the middle Ocoee. The pre-trip safety talk is helpful but not too heavy. Once on the river we had a ball. Just enough adrenalin pumping moments. The NOC rafts go in groups so if someone falls out, another is there to help. The NOC Ocoee guides really know the river. Our group included several rafters who have been using NOC Ocoee for years. We watched what appeared to be haphazard methods of other companies on the river. Glad we got our thrills with competent guides. Our guide, Mike G, was a hoot. Recommend him to all!
