My daughter and I just returned from doing the 10 mile float in a kayak with Flatwoods Canoe Base and had a beautiful, relaxing trip down the Buffalo River. We first stopped at another rental called Buffalo River Resort which was closer to our home but they were unfriendly and disorganized so we went further down the road. We are so glad we stopped at Flatwoods because the service was excellent and staff was so friendly. The building is nothing fancy from the road, but the section of river they took us to for our trip was beautiful with waterfalls and swimming areas along the way. This place was worth the extra drive for us.

By far the best place for a relaxing getaway. Very friendly staff. Reasonable rates. Overall a great place for friends and family to have a good time on the river.

Our family of five just returned home from the 10 mile float and we were planning our return trip before we left their parking lot. The gentleman who shuttled us to and from the river was friendly and gave us "newbies" some pointers. The office staff was friendly. The price for the canoe and kayak rental was better than most around the area and I have to ask- WHY PAY MORE TO FLOAT THE SAME RIVER? The Buffalo was a great float and easy to navigate. A few swifter currents and downed trees but nothing unmanagable. The only bad thing was the number of drunks sharing the water... Overall, I have to say this was a fantastic Saturday and we will definitely use Flatwoods Canoe again :-)

Flatwoods Canoe Base is great. Always dependable, always answer their phone, good prices and nice folks to boot. We never worry about our vehicle(s) or other valuables we leave with them and they are always exactly where they say they'll be when they say they'll be there.

the river the places to eat good food down town dislike was the motel at ren cass is going to be a mess since janie has past away.

Four of us rented tubes to float down the river and had a blast! I called ahead of time and spoke to Tucker who was very help and very friendly. The trip to the river in the van was short, so we did not have to wait long to get floating. When our trip was over, the van was there within 5 minutes to bring us back to our car.....and yes, I mean directly to our car...nice!!! The river was clear and clean. At several points we could see the bottom. A lot of people were canoeing. It was fun to interact with them along the way. The only thing I regret is forgetting a waterproof camera. We will be back! Thanks Tucker!!

The people at Flatwoods Canoe Base are extremely polite helpful and informative. The Buffalo river is beautiful and relaxing. The wildlife is abundant. I would recommend anyone to float with you all!
