So pretty and just sitting and watching things are a good time. We were there in Fall and the colors of the leaves were so pretty!! Can't wait to go back this summer and look at more things

I was recently staying in the area and was looking for a somewhat flat place to take the dog for a jog. The trails at this park were perfect, and there are some great views in the evening as the sun sets over the mountain. Couldn't have asked for a better place to get some exercise!

We camped the first of October and enjoyed the cool weather. We camped right on the water in a nice spot overwhelmed in goose poo, but that's camping. The bath houses were very clean, but burned our noses with the smell of bleach, overkill. The lake was beautiful and there were paved paths throughout the park. We didn't bring the kids, but the back loop of the park would be great for them; you could sit under your awning while watching them play on the playground. Cons: The lake is for fishing or renting their boats only. Unfortunately, we found that the park officials were very rude. They also do not allow any personal boats, even kayaks, at all without paying an enormous fee. I think $14 per kayak, and that's on top of the camping fee we had already paid. They also don't allow you to launch your kayak, or any other floating device, anywhere but at their boat dock where they rent their boats, even so we were on the water (we still had to drive the truck up to the boathouse to launch). They make it very inconvenient because at their boathouse where they require you to launch, there's no easy way to carry your kayak over the chain-link fence and attempt to board it on a hill of rock. There are many more campgrounds in the east Tennessee area that have more to offer and don't nickel and dime you or treat you poorly because you have your own boat and don't want to rent theirs. We won't go back.

We camped here for several days and explored the Norris Dam and local area. Very quiet. Nice places to picnic and walk. Would stay here again.

I am a trail runner & found a connector trail with the Cumberland Trail. It was really enjoyable & convenient. The rest of the park looks nice, too.

Very nice park just off the interstate. Has camping, fishing, walking trails and good food. You have to rent their boats to get on lake. Also has a seasonal pool. I don't camp but my friends have told me it's a great place to park your trailer unit. You can also bike on the paved paths. Has picnic areas with swing sets.

Is a great place to bike around the paved paths, I had my young daughter and teenage son, it's a safe plAce so I felt comfortable letting him do a couple extra laps around the trails when my little one was tired out. Then we went for a swim in their very nice pool, clean and attentive life guards.

We rented a Jon boat and fished for a half day for $15.00. Cove Lake is all electric so bring your trolling motor!

The bath house at the lower part is hot and doesn't have a working exhaust fan .The bath house at the top camp ground has a fan but the showers are dirty and mold on the certains. The only play has no swings for little kids. I have stayed here about 3 years ago and it was all good. Now it seems like they don't care and they are letting it go.I hope they get it fixed.

Cove Lake Campground is a perfect place for kids: there's a pool and an excellent playground. That being said, we were a bit disappointed. The sites were a bit too close for our taste, and it had more of a "field" feel to it, especially in C Loop. The sites are gravel, and some appeared to be rather short. Our site didn't have a grill or a firepit, which was fine for us because we weren't planning on using either one. Apparently a fire in the grill caught the overhanging branch on a tree on fire, so they just took it out instead of moving it. We weren't sure why the firepit was removed. The bathroom on Loop C was clean, and kept in good supply of toilet paper and paper towels. If you are planning a visit, make sure you check out the site you're reserving. You may even want to consider calling to make sure your site has a grill and firepit; the description doesn't indicate whether those things are on the site.

It turned out to be a great place to stop for the night on our way to Asheville, NC. My husband and I strolled through the park and I took a few pictures as the sun was setting. People were picnicking, some were fishing, and some walking their dogs. A very beautiful spot.

This was our second RV trip to Cove Lake State Park. It is a popular, moderately managed campground that both local campers and travelers use. Sites are graveled, of average size and mostly level to slight incline. Sections A and B are older sections, but have more shade from large Cedar trees and other deciduous trees. Handicapped sites located near the bathhouses have concrete pads and walks. There are hiking trails and nearby access to the Cumberland Trail. The restaurant provides both casual dining and special menu options, which we found to be very well prepared. There is a minor nuisance noise from the nearby interstate, which can be minimized by reserving a space in section C. Section C is also mostly open in the center of the loop, with some morning or afternoon shade along the perimeter.
