Provo Canyon is a major canyon out of Provo and Orem. The Provo River runs down it and the highway has been expanded to make it safer. You take the highway if you are going to Sundance, but turn off on a narrow canyon road. Very cool and pleasant in the summer. You can float or fish or take a train.

This is a beautiful, running, biking, walking trail. I highly dislike the long boarders because they take up a lot of room and are a bit out of control. It's beautiful, shady and has water fountains along the way. The waterfall is amazing and worth it to go see.

Full of Mother Nature breath, with relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. Good for a nice day of family pick-nicking!

Every times we have some time me and my wife make a run to visit, take a nice bread and enjoy all the spectacular places with lots of nature.

If you were at Salt Lake Citty but have no much more time you can set a half day to visit Provo Canyon, just 1-hour from Salt Lake City by car. Along the highway there is a lot of public parks to stop and walking around for a while. We stopped at Vivian Park in the autumnn - beautiful colours!

This Canyon offers a great deal of activities to engage in. It is a solid location for cycling, running, hiking, and ice climbing. Outside of the aggressive and inattentive drivers, it's a very serene and beautiful canyon, with a long trail system to explore.

We've traveled through canyons all over the world: Switzerland, Germany, Toroko Gorge, China, New Zealand, and on and on, but Provo Canyon ranks with them. Waterfalls, pre-Cambrian limestones folds and cirqs covered with pine trees and aspens on walls going up thousands of feet. Stop at Bridal Veil Falls; head up South Fork or stop at the ponds at Vivian Park or go up the Alpine Loop by way of Sundance and the reverse of might Mt. Timpanogos that reaches 11,000 feet. Enjoy.

Go when the leaves are changing but be aware that sudden drops in the temperature can leave you chilly. Very warm and beautiful in the summer time. Brown Trout fill the streams and the mountains look like they go on forever.

I love the easy access from 1-15. We actually live in Provo and it's a 10 minute drive from our house. You can float the river, bike or jog the River Trail (which is miles long and makes for some great scenery), boat or sunbathe at Deer Creek Reservoir (the water is generally pretty cold). We just love all the different parks and trails available for most of the year. Cheap and good fun!! No need to pay at most of them, too, which is really nice.

What a delight to find such a beautiful canyon just outside the city. I only had about an hour to spend in Orem/Provo and decided to drive up the canyon and wasn't disappointed. I appreciated that there were plenty of places to park and look around - I highly recommend stopping at Bridal Veil Falls.

From Bridal Veil Falls to the Cascade Springs to following the Provo River, this canyon is spectacular any time of year!

Provo Canyon has a getaway-from-the-city feel, but just a 5 minute drive from the city. You're immediately up into nature. Park in a lot on the side, and get out of the car, there's stuff to see and do. Bridal veil falls is right off the side of the road in the spring, when the water runoff is at its peak. I actually proposed up here. beautiful all around.
