Wish we could have hiked to the overlook from the visitor's station but we did drive. Iconic natural site.

This is the same as Canyonlands - just a different viewpoint but same canyon. A state park about 3-4 miles for Canyonlands NP - there is an entry fee of $10 since it is a Utah State Park. Nice place to enjoy sunrise!

Fabulous views, nothing I have seen quite measures up to this place for mountains and distance. Makes you feel quite small in the measure of things. You can miss the Grand Canyon, but don't miss this place. Not crowded and you can explore all day.

On a very high plateau, looking down to the Colorado River way below, view of Lal Sal mountains and Canyonlands just just wonderful and panoramic. Our favorite view was from the Dead Horse Point. Highly recommended to visit this park with Canyonlands NP.

Stopped by on the way to Canyonlands National Park and I am so happy that we did. In the early morning was a little bit foggy so we had to come back in the afternoon. The views are spectacular and you can also see the Potassium Lakes Mine. It is an amazing place and it is worth the additional 8miles drive. We saw many caws in the open ranches which was a great adding to our visit.

The views from here is certainly great, and on it's own it would be quite a draw. However with Island in the Sky section of Canyonlands just up the road, I would recommend passing this by in order to spend more time at the park if you are pressed for time.

The scenery here is just breathtaking :)Give yourself time enough to walk around and appreciate the views.

Stopped here as a side trip when visiting Canyonlands, as I wanted to photograph the oxbow bend in the river. The view of the river and Canyon are beautiful, though were not as clear to photograph because it was rainy when I arrived. I didn't know where exactly to find the view point initially - as it is not near the visitor centre - but you can drive all the way to the end, and then just a short walk to the view point. Paved pathways there, good information in the visitor centre, and nice clean bathrooms. Not covered by parks pass, so had to pay an extra $10 to enter. Not worth it on a rainy day, but more than worth it on a sunny one.

This is a State Park so the National Park Land Pass doesn’t allow entry. Entry fee is inexpensive and the views are well worth your time and money.

If you are going to Canyonlands this is a good side trip. The park building has great facilities and displays. The prime viewing area is a good hike from the center, but you can drive there as well so do it. You won't be sorry.

Stopped here on the way into Canyonlands/Island in the Sky and were very pleased we did! Stunning scenery - a geology lesson which makes you feel insignificant in the evolution of the Earth. Guide books will tell you about the dead horse legend and about the Thelma and Louise film and supposedly driving their car off the cliff here.

We went because we were in the area and there is so much publicity about all the movies shot here. The history of how this point got its name is very sad however the view of the Colorado River from here is great. Good but not my favourite place in the Moab area. Canyonlands or Arches are my favourites, but glad I did it to compare.

Technically this is not in the National Park, but it should be.The views are stunning and easily rivals grand view point in terms of scenery and beauty. It's a must see when in Moab.

We drove out here after a long afternoon of sightseeing in Canyonlands and were wondering if we should just bag it. So glad we didn't! What a spectacular view - well worth the drive. We were advised by our zip line guide to drive up at sunset which we didn't end up doing, but I wish we had - I bet it's amazing. It does cost $10 per carload to get into the park, but even if you just take some pictures, it's worth 2x that - just beautiful.

We toured many Nat Parks for 2 weeks and the view from Dead Horse Point was my favourite . Quite stunning........a must see. One of the lessor known places to visit.A good Visitors Centre as well .
