A group of us played the course on a windy day. It is a beautiful layout, and quite challenging for any level of player. It is known as the Augusta of the North, and one can see why. It is a course anyone can play and at this time of year very reasonably priced. It has a nice pro shop with competent and friendly staff. I would golf here any chance I got.

Absolutely 18 of the prettiest most challenging holes on the North East corridor. A challenging course not recommended for beginners, but not impossible for them. A fully staffed course with curbside bag drop, a professional pro shop staff, and a great snack shop. Also there is an app available that has all the info you could need about the course.

Course was challenging and beautiful with 200,000 flower plants. Fantastic clubhouse with wonderful food selections. Be sure to climb the spiral staircases for a crows nest view of the 18th hole. We played the 3 troon course in the area and liked them all but this in it's own way was as good.

... my golf friends and I knew this was a repeat visit enjoyed!... it is easy to forget you are here to golf with all the lovely landscaping and water views... this course is enjoyable to all levels of play. a very nice clubhouse to eat afterwards. Well informed and warm friendly staff...a must play! it has been called " the Augusta of the North"... Happy travels

Of course this is a spectacular course but how carcinogenic. It does not look this way because of natures way of making flowers and plants grow. Have played here many times but NO MORE! There was a Spruce Cent surrounding us and we thought maybe someone was using BENGAY, but the culprit was at the next hole. A massive vehicle riding during prime hours of golf spraying the grounds. We all decided to STOP and never come back. Players should be made aware of this or DON'T DO IT DURING PLAY TIME..Not that it would matter any less.

The weddings at Baywood are stunning and the receptions are just wonderful. You do not have to attend a wedding to receive the wonderful service and the wonderful food as every section is outstanding.

We are playing across country in an attempt to play golf in every State in the US. Our recent trip took us to Baywood Greens Golf Course in Longneck, DE (near Rehobeth Beach) on June 30, 2014. We had a late morning tee-time. There is no doubt Baywood Greens is an attractive track. There are plenty of flowers and other plants and landscaping that provide some very nice views. However, in my opinion they have forgotten about the golfers. I can over look some of the gimmicky holes (one has a sand trap almost 360Deg around the hole and then there is Island hole where you have to hop islands, plus a few others). But that's more personal preference so I can see where some people would not see that as an issue. Also, I need to mention the staff inside were pleasant. However, some of the things that bothered us were:1. The starter barked out commands like a drill sergeant. There were so many rules and a long list of cart path hole only holes and he was not exactly nice in giving the information. We did not feel very welcome, more like intruders. 2. It seemed that at least half the holes were cart path only (I have arthritis in one knee. I can only walk certain distances before the pain is excruciating.) Ok, if you are trying to save the fairways, fine i guess. But with all the flora it would seem just a little of that water would be enough to allow driving on the holes. 3. In addition to many cart path only holes, when you are allowed to drive on the hole it's for about 150 yds and then it's back off again. So the cart was almost no use. 4. Someone watered the several greens, right while we were putting! They would stop only if they were watering that spot where the hole is. If they were watering the other side of the green, they would keep right on going. 5. They were spraying insecticide on a few of the holes, again during our play. The wind was up and the insecticide was all in the air and affected our breathing. There were actually small clouds of whatever it was they were spraying floating in the air at times. In fairness, I did not tell the course about my knee. Maybe they have different rules if someone has an ailment. But even ignoring the cart issues, the rude starter and landscaping while we were playing left a bad taste in our mouth, both figuratively and literally. Again, the course is really nice to look at. But we felt like the flowers were more important than the actual playing experience which was just not much fun, especially at $109.00 for green fees.

I played this course twice last year, and was extremely impressed both times. It's an impressive facility and a beautiful golf course. The layout was good, the holes were mostly very fair, the highly touted floral landscaping throughout was impressive, and the conditions and maintenance were what you'd expect for a $100+ course (even though several of the employees weren't the friendliest people in the world). My recent experience, on the other hand, was an enormous disappointment for my buddies and myself, and we had soooo looked forward to this day. We had already decided we were going to come back 5 or 6 times this summer and fall, even though it's a very long drive for us. We carried our own bags to the cart area, where two gentlemen grabbed them and put them onto golf carts. I didn't have any singles, so I tipped him $5 for lifting the clubs two feet, and he didn't say thank you. Really? Five bucks for lifting clubs two feet, and you don't say thank you? We went into the pro shop, and a very nice young man took good care of us, probably the only highlight of our day. We teed off around 9:30 (on a weekday), and from the second hole to the 18th hole, we had to contend with mowers and weed whackers and maintenance worker distractions on nearly every hole. I have no issue with maintenance workers doing their work (I used to be a golf course maintenance worker), but on every course I've ever played, the worker always gives way to the player. Not on this day! On one hole, three maintenance workers were mowing the sizable area between the fringe and the bunkers with push mowers, and the flagstick happened to be right behind them, only about 15' from the fringe. All 3 of us waited, and waited, and waited as they looked right at us and continued to mow every square foot of that sizable area. We looked over and watched the marshall, who stared at the workers and waited and waited and waited. . . and did nothing. We continued to stand with our hands on our hips (usually a signal), waiting to hit our approach shots from 130 yards or so. Finally, the Marshall said, "Go ahead and hit." My buddy hit his shot about two inches from one worker's nose. On almost every hole, workers continued to mow with big fairway mowers and gang mowers and loud push mowers and loud weed whackers while we tried to play golf. On my favorite hole, I waited on the tee box while several fairway mowers kept right on mowing . . . and mowing . . . and mowing. Since the group behind us was about to catch us, I went ahead and hit, and the last mower drove right over my ball (on one of the few I hit long and straight that day). Then, the workers actually pulled over to the rough and turned off the motors, so I thought they were finally getting a clue. As soon as I addressed my ball for my approach shot, one worker started his mower and proceeded to drive right in front of us. Seriously?? I was upset, but my buddy was even more upset. He said right then and there that he'll never go back to this course that I had bragged so much about. And while the tee boxes and roughs were generally fantastic, we found the fairways and greens to be mediocre this year as compared to last year. And other than the 18th hole, the flowers and landscaping weren't nearly as impressive this year. Maybe they had some budget cuts on the flowers. Who knows? Not a big deal. Another issue is the smell on some holes. I don't know if it's nearby chicken farms or a sewage problem on the course itself, but there was a stretch of 3 or 4 holes on this hot muggy day that had an almost unbearable smell. If that's out of their control, we certainly can't fault them for the smell, but the loud mowers and maintenance workers pretty much ruined our golf day. When we finished our round, my buddy mentioned it to the man that started cleaning our clubs, and his immediate reply was "what do you expect from damn Guatemalans?" That really pissed me off, since my son is of Latin descent, but I again bit my tongue. When the guy in the pro shop asked how our round went, I politely asked him if today was unusual, or if every day was like this, he said that's why the course is as good as it is, or something to that effect. I thought his reply was kind of arrogant, so I said that I've never played a course where workers don't give way to golfers, and that it's better for the golfers and it's better for the pace of play if they give way. He said he would mention it to the head greens keeper, but it obviously didn't seem to bother him as much as it did us. All in all, we were very disappointed with our day at Baywood Greens, and I don't expect that we'll be back anytime soon. There are just too many good golf courses in that area. For $109 on a Thursday, it should be a REALLY enjoyable day of golf, and it was FAR from enjoyable on this particular day.

The experience was great from the start. Although they were replacing the tulps while we were there, the grounds were in perfect shape. The course was awesome and service was first class. A definate must play while you're in the area.

Although the layout of this course is fantastic, we have played this course 3 straight years in indifferent conditions. We plan an annual golf trip the week after Easter every year so weather can sometimes play a factor. The past 2 years we played in 25-30mph winds, and this year minus the wind for a change, the greens were freshly aerated. Forget putting, it was like playing plinko! Other area courses aerated 5-6 weeks ago, not sure why they waited so long. The course is beautiful and would definitely recommend it to anyone; I just want a chance to play it with a little less wind and better greens!

This course is definitely the most challenging course I have ever played on. The fairways were lush and the greens rolled fast and true. Using GolfNow we got to play for less than half the normal fee. The club house is huge and allow time to look around and warm up on the driving range before your round.

Have been going to Ocean City on golf trips for over 15 years and this was the first time visiting this course. Maybe it was a bad time to visit but the course was not in great shape. First off the greens were like concrete and putting downhill was an impossibility. The fairways were covered in old divots and dead grass from aeration. If we saw one we say 100 maintenance workers on the course, and I mean literally on the course. Vacuum trucks were all over fairways and maintenance trucks were everywhere. In fact on the 16th T we had to move to the forward T's as there were over 20 workers all over the T box. Staff was friendly and layout was beautiful but not sure I would add this to my must play list.

AWESOME !!! Have visited Delmar area for the last 5 yrs.. Since playing Baywood 4 yrs ago we have returned there every year.. As far as our group of golfers are concerned, its a MUST PLAY !! It offers MANY challenging but fair holes that are in our opinions among some of the prettiest holes you'll find in a coastal setting... We LOVE IT !!!

Golf Course was great. Restaurant was horrible. Staff was slow and food was bad. Spoke with manager who was clueless and unprofessional. It is unfortunate considering the high quality of the course. It appears the food/beverage director and restuarant mgr take for granted people coming in for golf and have no issue with poor food and service.

Baywood Green is one of the nicest courses I've played in terms of the combination of beauty, challenging shots, layout, and condition. It is pricey -- $129 for the round on a September weekend. Pace of play was slow coming in at five hours. A marshal took a lot of interest in our playing from the tips until he found out we were low handicappers. But then we didn't see him again the whole round. Someone needed to light a fire under someone in front of us. You have to hit a variety of shots on this course and some of the holes are very well done.
