The guides are so nice, calm, and accommodating, and the scenery is so beautiful. From the moment we got there with three little girls there was never a dull moment. There is actually a special tent FULL of genuine cowboy/cowgirl gear (think chaps, boots, hats) of many bright colors to get you in the western spirit. Hello, pictures! Then the guides are all true cowboys, and lead a life close to horses. The horses are nice and used to people. The guides' love for the animals is so evident, and makes the rides more fun as they truly love the horses and their jobs. I must say we went again back three more times, between all of us in our family. They gave the little kids pony rides, told stories, and laughed a lot.Tip: tip these guys, they deserve it!

We were camping near stanley and decided to go on a family horseback ride. Our guides were over the top safety and knowledge wise. This made our ride much more comfortable. The horses are well trained and gentle. They matched us up with our horses. Our girls are still talking about it. Dennis and Ron are the best. We are planning a special trip just for riding at Galena. It's a top notch operation and we really appreciate the safe and fun experience.

our family did the wagon ride/campfire dinner and had a blast! ron and dennis are the best - they were so fun with our young kids too! already planning next year!!

My husband and I wanted to explore by horseback the beautiful mountains surrounding Galena, Idaho. After careful consideration, we choose the Galena Stage Stop Corrals for an all-day ride. Everything about the ride was FANTASTIC - including the views, the horses, the guide, the trails, and the equipment!!! We spent the morning traveling mining trails through lush forests and meadows as we headed to the Miner's Cabin. After lunch, we leisurely traveled to Titus Lake near Gelana Pass riding logging trails, crossing smalls streams, and transversing through gorgeous mountain meadows while overlooking snow-capped mountains! We would do the whole trip again in a heartbeat!!!

Went riding with the family today at Galena Stage Stop Corrals. Ride was a generous 1.5 hours, through great scenery, and interesting terrain. Crossed a stream a few times, and had switchbacks going up and down to get a great view of a nearby mountain. The horses were friendly and easy to manage, even for our 8 yr old girl and 10 yr old boy. Guides were very careful and attentive - all in all a great outing, which I would highly recommend. We had a great time at Galena Stage Stop Corrals. I was impressed with their thorough instructions and emphasis on safety. We went out on a short ride as a family on one day, then my 8 year old daughter did a solo ride to Titus Lake with Dennis later in the week. Both trips were scenic and fun with no safety concerns whatsoever. The horses were really sweet and easy to ride.

Having lived all over the country, we've been to many riding facilities over the years. I was amazed at the safety concerns of the staff for each rider. They sized everyone up & made sure the horses suited thier personalities. They gave riding tips & a quick lesson before the ride. I'd never seen the mounting technique they used anywhere else. It was excellent and again, with safety in mind for both the young & old. Perhaps because the guide was a bit older, he realized how important it was to keep all riders safe & happy. On the hour & 1/2 ride he would look back every 3 or 4 minutes & study each rider & ask how some were doing. I suspect the ones he asked were nervous. His voice was also loud enough to be heard in the back too which was nice. He gave a talk on various wildlife & history of each area we went through. We're not sure if his name was Ron or Roy. He also recited a cowboy poem (special treat for those not familar with them) at the top of a mountain. Very entertaining. Because of their safety concerns I would highly recommend this stable/guide for the very young & very old or for anyone who wants to be safe & have an enjoyable ride. We probably would not waste our money going anywhere else if we were back in that area. P.S. as a teenager I worked at a stable taking groups out & I'm here to tell you our establishment wouldn't have held a candle next to theirs.

Took my 11 yr old daughter for her 1st horseback ride. The staff were super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of the history of the area.The horses are very docile and were easy for my daughter to learn on. As a bonus they put our 5 yr old on a horse and walked him around the stable area for 30 min or so. Dennis, Ron and Alex all did a wonderful job on our trip, with our son and answering all of our questions. Am going back again.

We have two 6-year-old children and we have been looking for calm horses for them to ride. we tried 3 different stables in the area before we landed in Galena. The staff was AMAZING, the price was spectacular, and the horses were by far the most appropriate for small children. Also, the horses were trained to pose for photos which we found very helpful.
