Such a wonderful layout and host to many many events. The results is that by the end of season the course was getting tired and a little chewed up.The greens are wonderful and like greased lightning.Go in the late spring or summer for the best experience. It is a "Gotta Go" kinda place.IHG,Rube

Drove by the course on the way to park near Kinnick Stadium,,,,,,it looks like a tough course, comments were made that the pro's play there.

Great golf course, brings out the best in you. A must play. Great shape, greens roll fast. Either you play well or it can tear you up. But if you play well you feel like you are on your game and is a good feeling. If you don't hit the fairways course can be very challenging. Good luck on this great Iowa golf course.

Great course! Fairways are perfect, cut short, greens are putting true and very fast, enjoyed the golf course a lot.

Finkbine is a beautiful course just down the street from Kinnick Stadium. I prefer Finkbine even over the nearby country clubs. The facilities are outdated, but that's to be expected from a public course. The course itself is well-maintained. A must play!

I enjoyed playing Finkbine for the first time. It is a well maintained public course. It believe it to be the best course in the area, and it is located fairly close The University of Iowa campus.

Finkbine Golf Course is an 18 hole marvelous challenge. The course is in excellent condition and the greens pristine. Anyone who loves the game of golf would love to play this course!

This golf course is really starting to show its age. I have been here a few times the past couple years and it keeps getting worse. I think the U of I golf team practices here, but they really need to upgrade there facilities

This golf course has some very interesting landscaping for some of the holes (if that is what it is called) One hole is located on what appears to be an island in the middle of a small pond...you tee off above it on a hillside and you might want to use an old ball because it is a very good possibility you may lose it in the water.

This is one of the best in the Iowa City area. Fairways were converted to bentgrass a few years back and it really helped. It has been the site for pros to play in an event called the Amana VIP. Also has hosted events for just below the PGA level. Signature hole # 13 is an island ole and tough from either tee you use. One drawnback is the cost however which is high for the area.

Iowa needs to step up and redo the golf facility to be second to none. Oklahoma State, Texas, Stanford make Finkbine look like a nine hole kick around course. The course just needs modern updating and it needs a real clubhouse.

Since the new director of golf (Jeff Moore) in place in year 2010, the course has been going downwards. Green condition is sub-par and fairway condition was no better. Bunkers were okay at best. However, the price keeps going up. This year's price increase is huge in all categories (Public, staff and students) I rather go play at Riverside Casino golf course 10 minutes of south of Finkbine for similar price on weekend and FAR better course condition plus all of perks

Played the course over the years. It could us more TLC like it had before. More attention to flowers and fine grooming would rate a 5 star, but only 4 for now.
