bixby state preserve

If you are traveling through Northeast Iowa and have some time to spare for a nature hike then take the time to stop by Bixby State Preserve. This is a low maintenance type of preserve so you will have to print off any information for the preserve before you get there as there are no brochures or pamphlets there. The only facility is a pavilion and a few grills next to the creek to enjoy the beautiful setting. The Ice Cave, plants, and setting are spectacular and a nice way to unwind and spend some time in the great outdoors. The algific slopes allow plants to grow here that you will not find in the surrounding area. Make sure to take a camera and some food and water.Enjoy!
