This market is nicely located and easy to get too. It is never a problem to pop in.There are lots of local, unique flavors, vendors and crafts. One disappointment, we can no longer purchase local honey and more grocery type foods.

We stopped here for lunch and found it difficult to decide what to chose. There are various food vendors, each appearing to offer very healthy options made mostly with local food sources. A must see.

I visited the NewBo City Market for the first time last week and I was impressed. Having been to a huge market in the Twin Cities, I thought this is a great start for a place the size of CR. I tried the pork burger with pineapple mango sauce special at the Caribbean place and it was made to order and it was good but nothing special, the sauce could have been a bit spicier and the ciabatta roll was wonderful. Next time, I think I will try one of the signature curries or jerk chicken and ask for the spicy version. The heritage white and wheat bread from Betty & Bobo's Better Bread stall was indeed better than most...in fact, it was very good! If I lived in CR, I would make a regular stop to buy a loaf or two. I was intrigued by their specialty bread flavors (apricot and sage) and will definitely come back. I tried a coconut cupcake & I am sorry to say it was disappointing...the young owner is oh so nice, but the coconut cake was too oily and dense and didn't have much flavor at all. The buttercream frosting had a little too much salt, but it actually provided a sweet/salty flavor, which was the only notable flavor for the dessert. I would try another of her flavors...perhaps the chocolate cupcakes are the best, but I could not recommend any vanilla cake based flavor if the batter is the same. The BEST taste of my visit to the NewBo was without a doubt, a lavendar vanilla latte from Roasters...this was simply sublime and was artfully crafted by a knowledgeable and friendly barista. I hope that people give the NewBo a chance...for the reviewers that diss it because it is not huge, consider the efforts and commitment that these local vendors must demonstrate to provide this market experience to Cedar Rapids. Support the vendors who are at the NewBo and it will encourage the enterprise to grow. I also loved seeing the Little Free Library outside the market... Overall this is a nice addition to a neighborhood that is being revitalized.

This market has many unusual food choices and other items to"try and buy." The idea of this type of venue is unique and worthy of stopping for a visit. The interior of the building is large, and it needs more vendors to fill up some of the empty spaces. This would make it have a better atmosphere. People are friendly here, and it's great to have this attraction in Cedar Rapids!

When reviewing this market, I was expecting to being able to spend considerable time there. Was a tad disappointing when we entered it. Wasn't really that big at all and only took us maybe an hour to wonder through it, plus the outside vendors that were there that day. A lot of the vendors inside were small food vendors. It would be a good place to go if looking for lunch and just wanting to spend a little time looking around. Would probably go again sometime, but only as a side attraction.

My family did a walk through on a Saturday early evening when visiting Cedar Rapids. I love the concept of unique foods and some interesting products, but I was a bit disappointed. The foods looked good but there wasn't seating and the place was pretty empty. I hope this place fills up more and thrives, but it wasn't when I was there.

This was a really cool public market, and clearly has room for further expansion to add more vendors. The current vendors take up about half the market capacity. Cedar Rapids should be very proud of this new addition to their community.

Very cool area. I visited on a weekday and didn't get the full experience but would suggest a visit to anyone looking for a social locale in the area.

Having moved to the area recently, everyone told us we HAD to go to the Newbo Market - that it was awesome. So we went. We both enjoyed it, but it didn't quite meet those expectations. About half of it is a food court and farmer's market, with fresh local foods and cuisines from around the world. The variety is excellent for a small city. And about half of it is rotating vendors, basically a mini arts and crafts fair. Kirkwood College also runs one-day cooking classes in this location. There was a juggler performing when we went as well. That said, there were about 30-40 vendors total - respectable, but not nearly meeting the hype about it from the locals. Still - we recommend you go when hungry, grab a bite to eat and take a look at what people are making. Just don't expect it to be as huge as some of the locals will tell you it is.

We are so excited that Newbo is now a part of Cedar Rapids! This is one of the best additions so far. We absolutely love stopping by after the Farmer's Markets for a healthy and delicious lunch. We have tried many of the restaurants inside the market and haven't found anything we didn't like. Also many of the shops are very accommodating and so friendly. I have specific dietary needs and have had no problems being able to eat here (which I LOVE). The atmosphere is really fun and the shops and restaurants make it such an awesome place to be.

This is a great place to have a quick breakfast, lunch, or snack. If you like to buy local there are a few vendors selling meat, produce, and bread. Half of the building is dedicated to weekly vendors selling different crafts and handmade items. I usually can't leave without buying some new earings, a fair trade coffee, and a caprese salad from the Greyhound Deli! It could use some more seating for dining. This is one of my favorite Saturday morning activities!

We have stopped by several times on Thursday nights to shop, have a glass of wine or beer and listen to the music that is playing for the evening. We have also stayed for dinner having great Mexican food or delicious pizza. For dessert a scrumptious cupcake. Those are just a few of the great offerings. Fun place to meet friends. Or just shop the market and then eat at the restaurants close by like Bata's; Brewed Cafe; Parlor City; Chrome Horse or Little Bo's. It is open Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Worth checking out! You never know what you may find here. Check out the cheese shop for local treats, and the cupcake place is great!

I've shopped the market for many gifts and enjoy meeting friends in the area to socialize and have a bite to eat at the many offerings.

Awesome place. Lots of food to eat and take home. Perfect place to meet and hang out. Loved it. Parking close. Vendors outside selling BBQ, baked goods, vegetables, crafts, so much to look at. Inside, relaxed atmosphere, food, drinks, foodie heaven.
