It was a cold day in Duluth and we decided to take a scenic drive. We found this on Trip Advisor and started the drive off of Hwy 53 and went West. The view was great and the road curves around the top of Duluth with several nice scenic overlooks that you can stop at. We came out right by the information/visitor center.

Beautiful overlook scenery. There are areas to stop and observe, but the view is very tempting for the driver to take his/her eyes off the road. Anyone in your car afraid of heights (my wife) should be put in the trunk. LOL

The most beautiful car ride you will ever go on! The road has a super long stretch that views Duluth from every angle.

Skyline parkway has some beautiful scenic overlooks. One of my favorites is by Enger Tower. There are three overlooks in succession that have a expansive view of the east and west side of Duluth, the St. Louis bay and Lake superior. While there Enger tower is a sight to see and the trip to the top offers 360 degree panoramic views. From there to the west past piedmont avenue is another nice overlook of the West end of Duluth. Definitely worth the drive.

The views from this vista are incredible. You will never forget the simple, safe trip you can make up the roadway and sit admiring the sights and sounds of Duluth. It's magical, peaceful, and serene. I even go up here to "get away from it all." It's a place for many pictures!

We took the old parkway which hugs Lake Superior and for late Fall, it was a very relaxing and lovely drive. Highly recommend it.

Skyline Parkway starts at Co Hwy 3. We had a real easy time of finding it with the map we had from our hotel. Great scenery along the way. Too bad they were doing construction on some parts. Had to back track and find our way around the construction. Had plenty of signage telling you where to turn. We continued on to the Seven Bridges road and this is a must see also.

We did a small section of the parkway drive and still seen quite a bit. There are a number of trails and natural areas just off of the road that make it a good relaxing attraction.

Such a beautiful drive. You see Duluth in a different light. Hawk ridge is a great viewing place. The only thing is not much parking to get out and enjoy the view.

What we did see was gorgeous, but we didn't see much. When our family took the drive, it was hard to see anything of the city through the thick greenery. (There was also road construction which made the road markers hard to follow - August 2014).Our best views were actually from the rest stop/scenic overlook when you come into Duluth from the south, so if you don't fully trust your gps try that instead. As another reviewer noted, I wouldn't attempt in the winter.

A beautiful view from on top of the hill. Lots to see and different perspective of Duluth living. I would recommend it

Wouldn't want to try this drive in the winter. Best in the summer. An automatic transmition was greatly appreciated too. Stopping at the lookout made the ride a reason to get to the destination

The parkway is a excellent way to get a great look at the city of Duluth and Lake Superior. The stately older homes perched on the hillside overlooking the big lake were impressive. Many outstanding viewing lookouts. Traffic was minimal. I can't wait to come back and traverse the skyline parkway during fall colors!

Despite being a foggy Sunday morning my wife and I decided to give the Skyline Parkway a shot anyway. We started out from the southern end at the rest area on I-35 and slowly made our way north towards downtown Duluth. Unfortunately, the fog took away from all the great views of the city below and there's a lot of rough patches and construction sections along it, including a dead end due to construction north of Enger Park. Despite those issues we still enjoyed a short drive along the road and returned later in the day to visit Enger Park. The parkway would definitely be great when the weather is right and the construction is cleared up.

Drive slow. Take the many non-railing guarded corners with care. Enjoy the view of the North Shore, Lift Bridge, Bay, and St. Louis River. There are a few places to pull over and park if you want to take pictures. The view is just as beautiful at night as it is during the day.
