Heritage House is located directly behind the Methodist Hospital....behind the old Warrell building....first Methodist Hospital, directly behind the emergency entrance at the Methodist. The Heritage is located in Central Park....takes you on a journey back in time in the Old House....vintage props and all. The Park is the start of parades in town, and the center for many concerts held by all ages...especailly young people...all free.

I love seeing communities preserve their history, and this little house gives you a glimpse right into the lives of a typical Victorian family. The docents were so very sweet and knowledgeable, I could have stayed much longer just chatting, but there were other people needing tours. I got a laugh out of how many things in the kitchen were actually familiar to me - I grew up in the country with old-fashioned parents, and my mom (84) still uses some of those utensils. If you like history, make time for a side trip to this lovely little downtown park and well-restored home.

We recently toured the Heritage House in Rochester MN, and enjoyed every minute. The rich collection of 19th century artifacts are attractively and thoughtfully arranged providing a detailed view of life 100 - 150 years ago. The docents really know the details about the collection, from the corn-on-the-cob shaped cornbread baking pans, to the fainting couches, from the lace loom to the design of the furniture, and tie their knowledge to the history of Rochester. Fascinating! If in Rochester, a must-see!
