Lake Spofford is a beautiful place for playing with the kids, picnics, enjoy nature, meditate... Especially in Fall, the water is colored by the reflex of the turning leaves. Even if you are looking for a peaceful place just to watch the landscape.

We have been stopping here for nearly 40 years, and have done so in all four seasons.Fall has always been my favorite time. This year it was exceptional.This late the foliage was still brilliant and vivid. The lake and village have not changed much and I don't expect it ever will. It is an idyllic spot and has never lost its lure. The lake is an ideal location for relaxing and just unwinding. Many years ago we even did a bit of snowmobiling. This time of year there is very little activity adding to the tranquility. The village is a perfect representation of a typical New England setting. A trip to Brattleboro and Keene would not be complete without a stopover in Spofford. If you pass through, do not disturb!
