My family ventured to Mt Sunapee in February for a Saturday, day-trip from the Boston area and were very satisfied. I look forward to doing it again soon. The driving was smooth and easy going up for just about two hours. (We hit an unexpectedly bit of snow and icy roads on the way home unfortunately.) Parking was convenient and we took a free shuttle bus to the main lodge with very little wait time, even at 4:15 PM even when it was time to leave. For lunch we ate at the Summit Lodge, a tiny yet oddly efficient spot to enjoy a modest repast. I had a hand-made jalepeno melted cheese sandwich. My wife and two teenagers had burgers and chicken fingers. The snow in New England this year has been amazing. What a difference since December when we were skiing on ice and the often-exposed stumps and rocks at a different resort. This was the first time ever for me at Mt. Sunapee and I'm surprised I have never heard more about it growing up in New England. For intermediate-to-expert skiers with this amount of snow the mountain provided fun runs, challenging bumps and the best part was the well-maintained glades -- especially Ridge Glades. It has been sooo long since I have skied the glades anywhere in NE with this much snow and couldn't get enough. My two intermediate teens followed me in the second time and together we ran the Ridge Glades, Hawes's Hideout and Sunrise Glades several times. We skied the Sunbowl Express Quad's runs most of the morning before hitting the High Speed Quad runs in the afternoon. The lift lines were a bit long around 10 AM and 1 PM, but otherwise we were happy with the line management on a busy Saturday. The fact that the personnel were so pleasant and helpful made a big difference. We are definitely going back.

perfect for 2 new little skiers. signed the girls up for lessons 1 day and my daughter and I skied the Mountain. Next day we practiced with the girls and were able to take them up the chairlift on the beginner side. They were thrilled. First time we took them on ski trip. Going back next season

The packed powder made for a great day of skiing, the mountain is big enough to challenge most skiers, it is an outstanding place to ski and the staff are all friendly and outgoing. The Touraine park was fun. If you looking for tickets to ski go to Liftopia for discount tickets, you must use them on the day you purchase them for but it is well worth the price.

Nice, well groomed, wide trails. Excellent views. Nice lodges. Nice staff. We had a nice time here. We skied 3 days here. They only thing we had a problem with is that after awhile we got a little bored with the lack of Expert terrain.

Haven't skied in a few years, this was a good mountain to return too. Not too challenging but enough to keep me going and wanting to see what was around next corner. Moderate wait at lift lines.

Most skiers agree that this is a well groomed, great place to ski. It's location affords it good amounts of snow and the groomers do a pretty good job. The two-for-one Wednesday deal has been discovered, however, which means that every skier in New England will be on the mountain if the weather is any where near decent. And while you'll pay less and won't find long lines thanks to the quad chair, the chances of getting run into go up immensely. Although most of the skiers are experienced, there are still those guys who ski too fast and out of control. My advice is pay the full price on another weekday and enjoy having more slope to yourself.

Fresh powder, nice weather, and the nicest people made the $34.50 deal even better ! Everyone was so friendly, both workers and fellow riders. The logistics are well thought out, and grooming let powder lovers and smooth riders share trails. There is a great variety of lifts and runs for everyone. The glades were beautiful and my favorite run to bomb was Lynx in just under one minute.

This ski area is one of my all time favorites. The view of Lake Sunapee from the mountain is spectacular. The skiing is great for beginners and intermediate skiers as well as experts. The lodge leaves a bit to be desired, but overall this mountain is a diamond in the rough. It isn't packed full of skiers, so you could get up and down the mountain quickly. I would recommend this resort for some good midweek skiing, if you don't feel like going to a bigger mountain like Loon (which I love as well) Happy skiing

Sunapee is - above all - a family mountain. My dad learned to ski here, I learned to ski there and my kids learned to ski there. To start, the "Magic Carpets" are in their own little corner of the mountain, away from the speeding upper level skiers. From there, you can progress to the beginner Quad chair, also in the same, separate area. And when the beginners transition to the big mountain, it is a mountain where the family can all ski together. Most trails are mellow and the trails to all lifts offer something every can do.Sunapee is great for what it is. It is not Sugarloaf or Stowe, but as a central/southern New Hampshire mountain it offers quite a bit. The "new" management is really great at making snow and grooming, and even when its latitude works again them (i.e. rain) they do a great job getting things back into shape. On a day this year when, 30 years ago, there literally would have been no skiing at Sunapee, we were skiing top-to-bottom with about 3/4 of the terrain open. That speaks volumes. They just don't get the consistent snowstorms that bigger mountains get to the north, but then again it is a very comfortable daytrip from the Boston metro area, versus a rather long, tiring day trip to other areas.

Too good of a deal not to take it. We spent almost the entire day skiing and on the chair no lift lines. We took a break for lunch at goose feathers pub where the food was just what we wanted and the service was great too. This mountain has something for everyone easy to hard. Long to short trails. Terrain parks and more. If you have a chance this season get here to ski.

Every staff member we encountered was terrific. For a season without any natural snow to speak of (thus far) the conditions were excellent too. The base was terribly firm after December's rain and only a few trails were skied off and icy by the end of the day. Most others were in great shape right up until closing. The lift lines were surprisingly short (almost nonexistent) for a crowded Sunday. Having two high-speed quads now really makes a difference. We find the older Spruce lodge to be essentially horrible. It's institutional and absolutely packed but we based ourselves there primarily for Goosefeathers pub (located upstairs). We remembered the other, more attractive lodge to be lacking in the availability of adult beverages (as well as the lodge at the top). Mount Sunapee, like Pat's Peak & Gunstock, forces you to spend a fortune on food with table service if you want a beer with your lunch and you can't simply enjoy a beer with your own food or a slice of pizza. We were also disappointed to find the wireless Internet to be locked (though, we did not inquire if there was a password for guest use. We assumed there was not). If you could grab a beer in the newer lodge and drink it with your bagged lunch and free wireless Internet was available, Sunapee might be our ski area of choice. As it is, we'll enjoy Mount Sunapee on occasion for the great staff, variety of terrain and excellent conditions. We'll ski elsewhere when seeking a fun atmosphere in the lodge.

The resort made the mostbwith no natural snow. It has rained prior to our getting there. But the guns kept going. Great mountain for people that don't want to battle the crowds at Killington or Okemo but want the feel and professionalism of a big mountain. The free bag storage was a big plus!!!

I went skiing on a Monday and there was no lift line. Great. The snow on the few runs that were open were well groomed. Great. Lunch in the lodge was tasty and as usual, somewhat expensive. Okay. Everyone at the area could not have been more friendly or more helpful.Overall I had a great experience. Super views from the top.

Once again, we have been skiing here for 30 years and love it so much. I have a midweek pass so I can ski when it's not too crowded. They have the best snowmaking and grooming team in the east!

Here are some of the key benefits of Mt Sunapee Ski:- Located about 2 hours north of Boston and 1 hour north of Manchester - easy to get there- great views of lake Sunapee and Mountain View lake from the top- no condos surrounding the slopes- great blue trails- great snow making and grooming- the lodge at the top of the mountain is a classic-- big stone fireplace to warm up - BBQ area on the snow when the weather is good can be tons of fun- Sun bowl area feels like you are in the wilderness.... Beautiful Here are some of the challenges:- limited advanced terrain- lodge food is typical burgers and fries.
