This place is a gem and should be a stop if you nearby. It is a perfect place to walk with the young and the old to enjoy a natural setting and easy path to follow. Rhododendrums are next to you, on top of you, in front of you, and when they bloom (in late July), they are so beautiful. Easy parking, and port a potties and picnic benches as well. If you are so inclined, you can climb Little Monadnock Mtn. The path leading to the mountain is right at the State Park (although hard to find initially).

This was a fun place to visit, but difficult to locate, as our GPS wasn't able to easily find the location.Once we found signs, however, we managed to get to the park. It's a small park with beautiful path ways, and the flowers were still in bloom. It was peaceful, and quiet, and all the people we came into contact with along the trail were kind and friendly. We were not disappointed with our adventure. Check it out next July during peak blooming time.

I was the only one in the park on a Friday morning in late January. It was pretty cool running down the main trail with all of the Rhododendrons drooping. I bet is it something else in full bloom. There had been a number of hikers out on the trails which were well packed down. I wore micro-spikes which gave me plenty of tread. Ran up to the summit of Little Monadnock and back down. Some nice views of "big" Monadnock.

This is a great little park if you are in the area. Would I drive 100 or even 50 miles out of my way for it, probably not. If I was in the area, looking for a hike/walk in the woods or a place to picnic, I would definitely consider it. Now I went in early/mid June and no Rhododendrons were in bloom/blossom but there were still some neat trails and if weren't so buggy (avoid warm part of Spring if you are the type mosquitos love) and threatening of a downpoor I might have stayed longer. Still you could do a lot worse. Keep in mind it will take you 5+ minutes once off the main road (Rte 119) but it's pleasant enough. There were no good maps on the board when I got there, so if you can, bring a trail printout. That said, trails are pretty well marked so it would be hard to get lost. There are two out houses and one picnic table just down the first trail you come to (not the area with the outhouse) on the right.

We ran the loop twice hunting for smurfs. Trails are smooth, flat and fast. Little Monadnock trail goes off of this trail.

We visited the Rhododendron State Park in Fitzwilliam, NH while we were visiting family in nearby MA. It was a little hard to find since we were not familiar with the area. According to the information we read, it was supposed to be within the blooming season when we went. However, we saw maybe three blooms in the whole place. So we were disappointed. My family has not let me forget it yet! Ha! However, I am sure it would be beautiful to see when it is in bloom. It is a lovely park. You can have "bloom updates" sent to your email or even check the website for the state park before you go.

This is a spectacular find deep in the woods. You can take a easy stroll to the viewing fields to see all the amazing Rhododendrons of every color. Then you can also climb to the top and find amazing views of Mount Monadnock

We've visited 3 different times in different seasons. Everything looks different with the changing sun angle. No real wow factor, but it's quiet and it's possible to get stunning and mysterious pictures.

This park is off the beaten path, which makes for a peaceful visit to explore it. Plan on a couple of hours, and maybe bring a picnic. You'll see a variety of flora and fauna.

If you go when the Rhododendrons are blooming you will be blown away with the color and beauty. Off that time it is still quite lovely and quiet.

Don't go there to see the blooming flowers until July. There are some nice looking trails to walk. In April, it's pretty quiet.
