heirloom kitchen - day classes

This shop is one of the BEST things that Old Bridge has to offer. They have a variety of "cooking classes" that revolve around a "theme" of sorts, the one I went to featured Jersey tomatoes, but I've seen mozzarella making, seafood, grilling, etc. The instructors are NY metro chefs that have stories of their own (culinary school, working in the restaurant business, writing/creating recipes). Our instructor was Ashton Keefe who was wonderful. The food is from the new Whole Food as well as local farms, butcheries and fisheries so they have fun ideas on how to do it yourself at home. You may also get lucky and do one of their off site events, we went to a Farm Dinner that was prepared by one of the top chef's in the area (Scott Snyder of Boulevard Five 72) at a local llama farm - amazing.It is a combination cooking school/shop that has dining and kitchenware with unique times that you usually only find in the city (NYC from here). The shop/school itself is beautiful with all kinds of inspiration for what you might want to incorporate at home. The owners Neilly and Judy help you along the way. If you are in the area (or even remotely close) and enjoy the culinary arts, this place is not to be missed.
